I found out a little something today. It was pertaining to my laptop and the need to log on with different credentials several times a day, but it should be good for network systems too.
If you run F@H as a system service, it will keep folding the same work unit no mater who logs onto the system.
1.7 Xeon is faster than a 2.0 Northwood. 500 Xeon is way faster than a PIII 500.Quote:

Does anyone have any info. on how well Xeons fold? I would have thought the extra cache would help them out reasonably well.
Mother boards for Xeons are high, and voltage regulators are outrageous.
Yawn:cool:Quote:

So far I've found FireDaemon to be quite handy in setting up Folding as a service. Makes it really damn easy.
Also handy for any office systems that you can set up (with permission, ALWAYS with permission) so they'll keep on folding with no one logged on.
Just letting you guys know I'm gonna be less productive for a little while. Seems my main system didn't like this sudden return to summer weather. :)
But my 1GHz Duron is still pumping away. I'll have my AXP folding in a couple of days after I feel comfortable reoverclocking it.
Damn Saffire! I just can't keep up with you!:) I need some more systems.
Hrm, you're doin more WUs then me, I think I'm just getting better points or something. Won't be long before you pass me up again ;)
wish i had a WU done for every time i've said that. :DQuote:

I am only running two rigs and they are working as hard as they can to stay ahead of you... I don't know if I can hold out much longer hehe.Quote:
