I cannot run DDR 400 at all. With any FSB. Neither can anyone else using HyperX.

You are correct in saying that being able to run a 200 MHz fsb synced is not gauranteed, BUT being able to run DDR 400 IS. And we can't.

This is a misleading statement. Perhaps those of you using two 512 sticks in dual channel cannot or perhaps those of you with the A1 version of the 8RDA+ cannot. However, I'm using 2 sticks of 256 in dual channel on an A3 version of the 8RDA+ and I have yet to have a problem running at any speed I desire. This is with the HyperX in the first sys in my sig.

And you are running the A3 chipset stepping, which does not have this issue. If you read the thread you will see that the issue is running an A1 stepping Nforce2 with HyperX RAM in dual channel mode. Also, I'm actually running an Abit NF7-S V2.0, not an 8RDA+. It's an Nforce2 issue, not an Epox issue.

With 400MHz FSB XP's not yet out why should anyone be on the hook for providing a board that will OC? You all bought no more than 166FSB, not 200MHz. I don't see how any of you can expect the board to be stable at 400MHz when a CPU to support it has not yet been released?

I looked at the website and specificly says it only supports 333FSB, with 400MHz DDR. So unless any of you can;t run DDR400 with 333FSB you're all asking for more than you paid for.

Good question...NOT

People are complaining because their system runs stable at a given FSB say 220 + WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY over what they are even expecting from their system. Yet they can't even run at 181 fsb because the memory has an incompatibility with the system etc. VERY VERY valid complaint. Were also talking about memory that is advertised at 216.5*2 @ 433mhz.

Of course your system runs at 400 ddr you have a A3 stepping. I have an a3 stepping running solid at 200 mhz fsb and 400 ddr with kingston...got the new a1 stepping in and blam wont run at 181 mhz and up period...wont even post. Tell me something isn't screwed?

Well then you must have missed the acknowledement post from Abit about an incompatability with the Nforce A1 stepping and Kingston HyperX. They even stipulated that they're waiting for a fix on it from Nvidia and Kingston. Why would they wait for a 'fix' to something where you say no problem exists?.

Please re-read the posts, again, before you post in the thread. You're obviously not paying attention. And if you don't have some sort of news or info to post for the benefit of the people who are actually working to resolve this 'problem', then please stay out of my thread all together. I don't appreciate thread crapping, and neither does anyone else who's posting in this thread.

UPDATE:

Well, I've played with my new RMA ram with the 3402 bios, still a no go above 180mhz :( . Thought maybe I'd get some magical new stepping of the ram that would work. Gonna flash to the new bios when I get home, but I don't have much hope for that either. So it seems RMA'ing to Kingston is not an option at this point.

your not disagree'ing your trying to cause trouble...what did you expect from your response. The warranty for these products explicitly garantees and is advertised as the speeds people are trying to run them at. And they are unable to run them as advertised...the buyer is entitled to the product as adverstised.

Again, you missed the point of Abit and Epox ACKNOWLEDGING a problem.

You don't seem to read - WE CANNOT RUN DDR 400 WITH ANY FSB!

With an FSB of 166, DDR 400 is not attainable. With an FSB of 133, DDR 400 is not attainable. It simply is not possible.

1. If the board won't run at 333MHz FSB I APOLOGIZE I WAS WRONG, but I seem to see most (if not everyone) claiming issues with 200MHz FSB.

2. I am posting regarding this issue because people read this and then they start calling their retilers and demanding RMA's and such. I am a retailer, now I don't believe this thread was ever going to cause me personaly an RMA, but it bothers me when people do call me and want to RMA a board cause it won't OC as well as they'd hoped.

3. I sincerly hope that all of you get the board to work properly at the specs you have listed but this thread seem to be goign the direction of people feeling "gipped" by the manufacturer or the reatiler (as stated above, if it's at 333FSB then you should feel gipped and RMA your board). But if it is simply the fact that the board won't run faster than spec, even if that spec is going to be changed later for new products, you have not been gipped, and just need to wait for the new BIOS or what ever they do to update it.

4. I really was not trying to rant on this thread, but maybe try and help you guys be a little more realistic. I have made my point and won't post in this thread again. Sorry if I upset you ;)
