I was thinking the same thing. :D
I realize I'm getting into the thread kind of late...but regardless, very nice system you have there! :) How do you like the Ikea desk? I'm using the same one for my theater PC setup. Enjoy your new system..
I can't even remember the beginning of this thread. And I'm NOT going to read it again...Quote:

Yup, it was a 1337 P3 1Ghz Coppermine. LOL:)
By the time I replace this new rig, I'll probably get the Intel Core 6 Sexo.
Hypo, it is wicked. I've never raved about a desk before but I love the sturdieness and the modularity. It's kinda like having a desk made of lego and being able to adjust height and shelves as well as add other accessories (more shelves, pc holders, keyboard trays, paper holders) to the stand. My older Jerker on the P3 rig is still holding up very well. The only problem is you need alot of space for the Jerker. It takes up 1/3 of my bedroom.:D
I need to find a budget high back chair with more lumbar support & a thicker seat cushion & low to the ground & adjustable arms though. After I sit of a while, I get a neck ache and my back/butt sometimes hurts. (I know, I need to get out more);)
soupnazi,
Sorry for resurrecting this thread but a couple of questions -
1. Can't seem to find the thread where you talked about the 2 Coolermaster intake fans. Anything special you needed to do to get those in that case?
2. Did you permanently take off the front panel of the case because of the intake fans?
Any updates on cable management?
Thanks for being so helpful on these forums ! :)
Hey Ny888,
1. The first 120mm fan near the front mounts directly into the P180's designated fan mount on the front of the case with 4 supplied screws. The inner 120mm fan behind it was mounted in upper bay which usually holds a hdd mounting cage. The cage slides out but I had to also remove the bottom plastic mount which holds the cage in place. (fan would be too tall with it in; it's easy to take out plastic with a few screws) I then mounted the 2nd fan onto the metal surface using 3M double sided tape. The 2nd fan is staggered and is closer to the mobo side.
2. I kept the P180 stock even though there is some restriction infront intake airflow. This helped kept noise down. (there's a filter in front of the intake and a grill door in front of that; the case door also covers this)
* Unforunately I'm too lazy to tidy up the cables and they don't seem to be causing less airflow.;) Since the P180 has the powersupply at the bottom, it can really cause havoc for spare PS cables. (need some cable wraps)
PS. Thanks for the compliment!:D
Wow. Congrats with your new rig. That looks sweet! I'm hoping to get a new rig this autumn. :)
Thanks Blizzard! It's hard to believe it's already been a year with my new rig. Your new rig will rock. Core 2 Duo!:)
Hey Soup is everything working out OK?Quote:

Perhaps you would be better off like that, the only thing that keeps me from doing so is,the potential for a crash.Quote:

Solid system man :) Nice!
Burn all your movies off the hard drive. Unless you have them in crappy 700mb .avi format. ;)
(or if it is all pr0n:))
Old thread but congrats on the rig :)
Do you have any opinion about how the P180 stacks up against the Nine Hundred? I am building a new rig soon and the P180 looks extremely slick but OTOH the Nine Hundred looks rather flashy :p
Decisions...
Thanks guys!
Pron...is that a type of desert?;) Yeah, I have about about 370gb of "data" that needs to be backed up to DVD. At 4.5GB a disc, it's quite a few discs. I've burnt 30 discs so far. I used think Dvd's were huge for backup but now I want writeable Bluray. (talk about storage space per disc):)
I havn't had a chance to a see a Nine Hundred in person but it looks like a good enthusiast rig. Just the open design looks like it will have good airflow. I dunno why, its looks reminds me of Doom 3. The openess will probably be louder than the P180 which is quiet but has good cooling.
Soup why don't you just get yourself another drive, back it all up and put it in a safe place.Quote:
