Definately. I'm not saying its all his fault, but the net result is you were drafted #1 overall then cut from your team 4 or 5 years later. Bust. Now if he resurects his career for the Panthers then great. But he was a bust for the Texans.Quote:

Carr is a bust, but manning2 is decent? Manning had a better O-line, better receivers, and a top 3-4 back, and lost the only playoff game he has played in horribly. Carr is better than Manning by a long shot.Quote:

the whole thing with porter was he wanted martz to be head coach and was upset that they didn't hire him and shell took it personal and went old testament on him with the grudge... porter has said he is ready to rock and roll, moss...he's another story... he wasted his own talent.
5 step? I saw a whole lot of 7 step drops, by the time he got to the 4th step he had to turn and run from defenders... anytime they moved down the field it was a 3 step drop, then the o-coordinator would start calling 7 step drop plays and it all unraveled.
The texans where a bust for the texans.Quote:

1. Carr, who was supposed to be the face of an expansion franchise, and they never sniffed the playoffs, he got cut instead of traded, and now he's a backup.
2. Manning, who had a pretty good year in 2005, his first full year as a starter, and who hasn't missed the playoffs as a full season starter.
Carr is already a bust as a first pick; Manning hasn't lit the world on fire or anything, but he has had success, and he's only played three seasons so far. Still early on him to make a call.
So is Culpepper going to be visiting Oakland soon?:)
No, but I heard they may be enticing Bledsoe out of retirement :pQuote:

Daunte Culpepper will be gone, either via trade or release, as Kansas City's Trent Green is pursued, Dolphins sources said. Although there is no timetable for that to happen, it is likely some movement will happen by the April 28-29 draft. The Dolphins also hope to pick a quarterback in that draft.

in other news... it's ok to draft LT in FF this season...

Vince Young's agent said the Titans quarterback has been told he'll appear on the cover of Madden '08, the popular football video game that features one NFL star on its package each year. Whether it's a coincidence or a curse, however, recent players have been injured the year they appeared on the cover.

Iirc only 2 of the last 8 Madden cover guys have escaped the curse. Pretty soon he'll just go back to putting himself on the cover, like the old days.:p
I think the whole Madden curse thing is silly anyway. They are really reaching to find things on a few of the guys.
What are you talking about. They're all cursed.Quote:

While it may not be an injury, the player always sucks, or is hurt shortly after appearing on the cover.
Heh, that's kind of funny.
after last season no one else could even be considered for the cover but LT, so it is obvious he turned it down because he believes in the curse - or atleast doesn't want to be jinxed... now watch him still get injured cause he was SUPPOSED to be the guy, like final destination!
something tells me raiders take calvin johnson...I don't know why, but I think they screw themselves by not having a QB and having 3 unhappy receivers who all leave next offseason.
I swear this has been the most heavily analyzed draft that I can ever remember,
Garrison Hearst had his best season ever, though he did get hurt in the playoffs. Eddie George had career highs in yardage and touchdowns. Ray Lewis missed ONE game in his season. 2004, Ray Lewis' bad year where they didn't make the playoffs, was also, I believe, Kyle Boller's first year as a starter.Quote:

As far as injuries, of the 10 listed, 6 are RBs, who are notorious for getting beat up, and 3 are running/highly mobile QBs, so they take more hits than the average QB does. In a sport where injuries are expected, those guys just have a much greater chance of getting injured than the average player does.
The whole thing is just reaching on too many levels. Some guys are cursed because they're never again as good as they were. Some guys just have one down year. Some are hurt, others aren't. One didn't even have his "cursed" year until the year after he was on the cover. It's like the movie 23; of course if you're looking for the number all over the place, then you'll find it, and of course if you're trying to find anything that went wrong with one guy's season, you'll find something. There is almost no consistency from "curse" to "curse."

Most of Mannings big plays come from the fade away, jump balls that the 6'5 Burress hauls in.

Went from never missing a start to missing six. Played the rest of the year on a broken foot.
the madden curse could go either way, I don't generally believe in such things.
the most likely explanation seems to be that the player selected tends to be an established player that has had a career in the nfl.
that being said, the player is 'due' for an inury - meaning had they selected LT (which I completely believe they did) he would be injured or have a mediocre to bad season just because he has been in the nfl for a while and he is basically due for something to go wrong... I do believe LT crashes back to earth this season just because of the entire coaching staff being changed and a new system being installed.
that alone would be cause for people to say "ah ha! madden curse is real" if he was on the cover.
it is more or less coincidental.
But belief in 'due for an injury' follows the same logic as belief in the curse itself.Quote:

You have to admit the example I gave works though; the league mvp and td record holder was transformed into a crippled, below average rb--the very season after he appeared on the cover. He didn't even have that record for more than a year.:p I didn't think anything would come of it either but the coincidence is icky and I'm glad it's over.

I can guarantee LT will fizzle compared to last year.
due is due... they select proven vet players and it's just coincidental, come on culpepper? george? faulk? guys that are due to experience a down season.
All I know is that the Bucs better get Calvin Johnson, or I'll be pissed. Screw defense, I'll take another loosing season if this guy becomes the player that he's hyped up to be.
