aww come on those two don't even compare with EOC
I went away for the weekend - my laptop came unplugged and my AMD locked up (didn't lose a WU). So I was folding for 3 full days at 40% or so, letting muohio really pull ahead. I probably wasn't going to catch him anyway.Quote:

you and Daywalker have really been neck and neck, i've been waiting to see which one of you is gonna pull ahead of me first.
My 1600+ at 1.8ghz just sent in its first WU a 344 that took a few minutes shy of 20hrs, the bad thing is it gave it another 344.:( do they give out repeat units like this often.

I just got the third 344 in a row. That's the project I get the most. I've gotten seven so far.
That was my 7th one also, it seems here lately I will get a 344 or a 683, well I do like the high points they give for them.Quote:

Yeah I've gotten a ton of those 344's over 2 dozen in fact. 549 is my next most abundant. I actually love the 344's myself its a 53 pointer that my Tbred can do in less than 15 hours. Whereas the 684 I'm doing now is a 60 point but takes nearly 17 hours. Its a small difference but mapped out over a week its several dozen potential points
Actually a 549 or 800series would be my real favorites. I just checked my log file and I can do a 33 point 549 or 32 point 8xx in less than 8 hours. Well ahead of the 684 pace.
Yep, 53.3 points for the 344's isn't bad at all. :cool:Quote:

The 70 pointer 638's are a pain though. I'd rather delete the core and start over than wait for one of those to finish. I haven't gotten a single TINKER since I've been using the -advmethods tag though.
I really cringe when I see a new member start with 71 points. It means they are getting Tinkers, which means they aren't using advmethods; which means they aren't using SSE; which is a 20% speed boost.Quote:

Also when running two instances, thanks to HT, the GROMACS cores deliever a much higher performance increase. I've gotten as high as a 60% increase in production over the TINKER's much lower 15-25% increase. Anyone else notice this?
Yes, it is much faster for me also.Quote:

I get mainly 344's and 811's. Wonder what's so special about the 344 project.
"The 340-387 series is a continuation of our first series of RNA projects (301-319), using much more sophisticated algorithms to maximize the accuracy obtained. These projects, which use the new F@H Gromacs core, will allow us to examine the role of water molecules and ions in the folding and unfolding processes, as well as the effect of water polarity using three (TIP) models of increasing complexity."
Well that clears that up then. :p
On a side note... Just added another 1Ghz of G4 and a further 5.1ghz of P4 24/7 (for the time being). See how it goes. :)
Yes, them 638`s are a pain, I guess I`ve really gotten into folding, because I plan on having my 1ghz celeron T up and folding at 1.4ghz, after the first of the year.:) I have even been cutting down on surfing the internet because I can cut down on my folding time. Is this a sign of becoming a folding addict.:DQuote:

the stanford page says the status of those 344s is "adv," so maybe that's why we're getting so many, because we've got the -advmethods set? i've gotten 15 of them so far, almost 1 out of every 3.

looks like we're about one Thermo away from 100,000. :D
of course in the time it took us to get here, the other teams haven't stopped producing, either (as Colossus pointed out :)) so it's going to take a bit more than a hundred grand to get us into the top 200. but it shouldn't be too much longer. :D
