Those gaudy records in the AFC mean a lot more than in the NFC. The Eagles and Seahawks wouldn't have made the playoffs in the AFC, yet they gave the Saints and Bears all they could handle at home.

The Eagles and Saints were 9-3 versus the NFC and 1-3 versus the AFC. The Bears were 12-1 versus the NFC and 2-2 versus the AFC. Now that the Eagles are out of it, I don't really care who wins the SB, or what conference they are from, but I just don't think the Saints or Bears have a shot, no matter who they play.

could be the year Manning gets the monkey off his back, Belichick isn't always Peyton's kryptonite... the pats are their biggest challenge, but Manning chokes in the playoffs...he should play for the bolts, almost did...it's like a sign.

they are playing in INDY, so thats a plus for manning....I'd like to see Harrison get a ring, just like I wanted to see LT get one....seems the good hearted humble guys who play football every sunday because they love to play get the shaft, Rice being the exception.

Seattle gave San Diego all they could handle a few weeks ago. The team everyone said would win it all. Anyone can beat anyone. Besides look at the last few Colts teams, who always win lots of games in the regular season only to get dumped early in the playoffs.

With that running game, the Saints have a shot at anyone. If anything, NE will need some of that Bradymagic (and some more ridiculous calls going their way) to have a prayer against NO.

no doubt, colts need a good gameplan against Major Tom and Co...then need to pray their arses off that chi-town beats the saints.

All you're telling me is that the AFC is better than the NFC, which I've already agreed to. My point is that it's not tournament style where the NFC team has to go through a huge AFC gauntlet or anything; they just have to win ONE game, so the odds aren't really all that bad. Look at Boise State versus Oklahoma - OU wins 9 times out of 10, and probably blows them away by 3 or 4 touchdowns in 6 or 7 of those games. Boise State only had to win one, though, and they did.

I humbly concede that the NFC champ will have a 10% chance of winning the Super Bowl. But that doesn't mean I think they have a reasonable chance of winning. I think it is more likely we will see a blowout.

I dunno, those Saints look pretty darn good (yes, I've already written off the Bears). I still think it's Indy vs NO in the SB.

NO wins over Chi because they have destiny behind their back. That and Grossman sucks left and right nuts.
Colts win over NE because they are playing at home, watch Vinitari win the game for them.

I'll take the same, but I think NE will be closer to Indy. On paper the Pats get crushed, but who the hell knows with them.

Pats got crushed by SD on paper as well. But it is ****ing tom brady.

Doesn't surprise me too much. Longer career in baseball, less chance of injury, and as I heard on the radio earlier today but hadn't really thought of before, MLB players's contracts are guaranteed. Apparently there is a pretty good history of top college baseball/football players that choose MLB over NFL.

aren't nba contracts guaranteed also? always thought it was lame that nfl guys rarely if ever see the money they signed for in their contract...even LT won't see his contract figure, michael vick won't either....they will both either be released or made to restructure their contracts.
