D- Jack to the 49ers is official. :(
Seattle uses the pick to finally take a guard, Mansfield Wrotto out of G. Tech.
I wanted Beekman or Ramirez more.
Interesting draft by Seattle. I have a lot of faith in the front office to make the right moves for the long term, which is good because right now it feels like we traded away our #1 reciever for friggin peanuts.
Miss is a pat
moss is still incredibly fast, almost faster than every draft prospect this year and he's OLD!!!Quote:
Randy Moss Passes Physical; Officially A Patriot (4/29 8:40 PT)
The Facts: The league has announced that Moss passed his physical in New England and the trade sending the star wideout from Oakland to the Patriots is now official. The Raiders receiver a fourth round pick -- No. 110 this year -- as compensation. Reported by NFL.com
Diehards Line: According to all involved, the Patriots and HC Bill Belichick have put Moss on notice: His first slip will be his last as a Patriot. Adding Moss, who will agree to restructure his current contract in order accommodate the move, to the receiving corps is obviously a major coup for New England. Moss joins newcomers Donte' Stallworth, Wes Welker and Kelley Washington in addition to holdovers Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney and Troy Brown. ... Meanwhile, ESPN insider Chris Mortensen reports both the Patriots and Packers timed Moss at 4.29 and 4.3 in the 40 during workouts held in Florida last week.
We'll see if he still "has it". The patriots made out as far as I'm concerned, getting him for only a 4th rd pick, assuming he can stay healthy.
Good move by the Pats.
What pisses me off is that if Moss and Jackson only brought a fourth, then wth was Ruskell doing giving up our first for Branch last season. Just irritating. I guess that's what happends when the draft is deep at wr, but you try to trade one anyway.
I love the skins, they give away all of their draft picks for good players and they still suck.Quote:

I think that Moss for a 4th rounder is an arse raping!
Moss still has talent to dominate... probably for a few more years.
A player of that calibre for a 4th rounder who has all the probability in the world of not even making the NFL?!?
I wonder what the official stats are for 4th rounders... making the NFL?
The only way that this trade makes sense to me is if the Raiders can simply not afford his contract.
that and he didn't want to play for the raiders, and we saw what happened last year when he didn't want to play.Quote:

Patriots make a hell of a deal, why? Moss ran a 4.29...I think it's faster than every draft prospect, if not then VERY CLOSE and the guy is 30 years old...
he restructured his deal, instead of nearly $10m he gets $3m, he said the pats were the only team he would restructure for - that means he WANTS to play, he's motivated....and thats bad bad news for opposing teams.
Moss is likely the fastest receiver in the NFL, has great size and when he wants to - great hands.... it's a steal.
he will still be a bit player on the pats, and he might not be happy with that.
pats will win it all, hand them the trophy andlet's get started on next year's draft.
LOL!!Quote:

I don't think Moss will be a distraction, the Patriots won't give him the damn opportunity that's a tightly run organization, and I don't think the players on that team will give him an ounce of respect until he earns it.
That said... MOTHER F'IN PATRIOTS! How the hell do they do it? Every single organization needs to emulate them. When I heard Moss was going to the Pat's I went, "Well looks like they are going to win a superbowl again!"
The Pats might be the most improved team in the league, which is rediculous.Quote:

What makes Moss dangerous is Tom Brady, pure and simple.
If Moss can go in there and do a corey dillon type of character turn around, then holy crap. I think they might need to be considered the top seed. Aren't they content with 3 superbowls since 2002?
I wish I had posted draft predictions for the Ravens. I had the feeling they would take both Troy Smith and Yamon Figurs, though I didn't think they would take Figurs as high as they did.
Like I said, we'll see which moss shows up. He had so many drops last year that he was competing w/ TO to see who would finish w/ the most. We all know his workout routine is close to nonexistent, plus he seems to be more injury prone lately.Quote:

Agreed.Quote:

Yea, so did Culpepper. I cant believe this, you would think that other teams would want to make the Pats WORSE, but instead, they just give up great players literally to make the pats far better...jeeez. Thats just stupid, Moss for a 4th rounder, cmon Raiders you could have done better than that! Brady probably sh** his pants when the deal actually went through :DQuote:

I can still remember a time when the Pats were consistently one of the worst teams in the league. Guess they figured out how to turn it around over the years.
Ohh yes... a laughing stock for quite some time. Then they got Bledsoe.Quote:

won't happen again, Colts don't have the firepower to match NE on either side of the ball, I love Marvin to death but I think thats it for him, no more rings....he earned his though the hard way.
NE is sending a message by taking Meriweather and Moss...we will win at any cost, "just win baby" east coast style... they are pulling out all the stops, taking guys with character issues and work ethic problems....they are going to win, end of story.
it's only a matter of time though before they butt rape Tom Brady like they did all the other guys they cut who they didn't want to pay....soon he will be deemed expendable too.
I think you're going a bit far there. You build a team around a qb, it's not everyday a good one comes along. Especially one as clutch as brady. Look at how far the team got when you took away his receivers. He's a stud, getting rid of him would be a horrible move and it's not going to happen for a while.Quote:
