I would say about 35Mhz more on the core... But you can get 500 points more with just or about 400Mhz extra on the CPU :) But if you can tighten your memory settings.. That should help too...Quote:

Alright, 100mhz CPU and 25mhz core should do it... I have a surpriiiiiise for youuuuu! :DQuote:

System Info ----Actual speed
2.450ghz ------- 2.5ghz - Can publish
2.450ghz ------- 2.3 or 2.65ghz - Can't publish
Hope this helps you out. ;) :)
it to publish. The system info was right on..

I never had that problem, itll just crash to the desktop or lockup, but either way the cpus not stable. Bartons dont overclock as high, you are not much past 2.2GHz, but a high fsb and double the cache more than makes up for the extra MHz which dont matter much past 2GHz on any athlon cpu so far
"Wrong again... You can easilyt get 15k with your hardware!"
I have been trying for a long time man. Even if I get my fsb higher, I dont think ill quite make 15k, id need to get the ram on my ti4200 higher as well. im in 2nd place for a ti4200, thats how hard it is!
anyway I gain about 100 marks per 10MHz gpu core and 1.5 marks per MHz faster cpu speed
Well that is why you need a real tweaker to go in and push the 15k mark... :)Quote:

I dont think you tried every drive that nVidia released... :)
okay...so are you going to let me in on the secret? which one is fastest? or if you want to keep it private you could always PM me...;)Quote:

new 3dmark 03 scores. couldn't stand being out of the top ten. i might have a little bit left, not sure.
CPU: Athlon XP 2500+
Stock Speed of CPU: 1833
Overclocked speed of CPU: 2100 (my '01 test was run at 2425 though,so i don't know which one you need to use in the database)
MotherBoard: Epox EP-8RDA+
Ram: 512mb Crucial PC2700
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9800
Stock Core of Video: 325
Actual Core of Video: 465
Stock Mem of Video: 290
Actual Mem of Video: 385
Cooling Used: CPU: Aero7+ GPU: Giant II
Your scores with links: 6577

2003 is gpu dependant so anyone with a 9800 should break 6k easy, thats why I dont like 2003, games are like the car chase high details in 2001 :)
you'd like 2003 if you had a 9800:p
Updated :) Come on #5 spot is only 6666 :D :)Quote:

hmm, that's a full 100 points. i don't know if i have that much left in this card. think running it with the 2.4ghz cpu speed would help at all? it typically crashes on the CPU tests when i try that, but i could give it 2.2v i guess. other than that and maybe running at 467/390 i don't think there's much else i can do.
Are you all using stock cooling for these core clocks? With stock cooling, I get artifacts at 460!
giant II. best $30 i ever spent. i do get some dots on the screen though. even some artifacts occaisionally.
Ahh, ok - WHEW.Quote:

Of course, I spent $3 on an aluminum brick and got 472 with no artifacts (and 480 with artifacts). :D
You dont need to run the full test!!! It might score a few extra points.. But nothing like raw mhz power on the card...Quote:

I would press escape right as it loads the loading CPU tests... No reason to run it.. IT doesnt affect your scoring!
Hey Colossus... Check your forums. :)
yes, but i can stand my computer upright and i can have other PCI cards.Quote:

sorry about posting two requests for score updates in such a short amount of time, but i just couldn't resist putting up my new 2k1 score. Sooo close to 20k!

Well, i actually removed the fan that came with the giant II and put the fan from my 9800's stock cooling in it's place (doesn't mount quite right, but a little crazy glue works just fine). the fan really doesn't do anything though, so i have a HUGE fan i took from a server rack (runs on AC power, heh, about 40w) that i have stacked on top of my physicis and calculus books so it sits next to my rig and blows directly over my video card.Quote:
