I should probably try that. It happened again. Seems to happen after going in an out of the nether a few times (both times it was right after I went through a portal).
Speaking of portals...
- I cleaned up the room around the "first" nether portal (the one that you get to from the base portal) and a little bit around the other nether portals as well
- I finished fixing up the houses around the overworld "western" and "northern" portals and added signs on their tunnels in the nether
- The broken northern portal is now working again and the duplicated portal is removed
- I added a 3rd portal (using exact coordinates so it wouldn't mess up the others) that goes to the basement of the Ft Tombstone village (where the tunnel ended) so that we wouldn't have to use up all of the iron on a minecart track after all (maybe we should do this for Ft James, too?)...it also has signs in the nether leading to it
So I think right at the moment, all portals are protected and working correctly. :)

Going through a portal causes really high amounts of memory allocations.
I was crashing every 15 minutes or so until I took render distance off far. No problems now.
James can you please whitelist one more IRL friend for me? His SN is De4estation

WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW
Haha, awesome. You should build an altar in front of it so the Sharkys can go there to worship. :D
Still waiting for Dejarin to come here asking "WHO SURROUNDED ME WITH LEAVES?!"
Got a few more levels up on my building. Also, a few more levels down (below ground).
tk1986 helped me this morning chew through an entire floor in like 30 minutes, which was awesome.
