He isn't a running back, and he isn't a reciever. He is a hybrid new position.
Just like Vick ain't a QB or a RB, cuz he is gonna be suspended and sitting out :D
awhh. i make myself giggle.

he is definitely a better receiver, and I said that way before he was the leading receiver... everyone knows who he is, his reputation precedes him....ultra fast guy with crazy moves, so everyone is ready - they are at defcon 1 when the dude hits the field so when they smell run they stack the box and he gets NOWHERE... defenses and some individual defenders took it as a challenge, everyone hyped him up as the next barry sanders so they had his name on the top of the list... he has much better success when he can get out into the open field THEN get the ball instead of the other way around, he is pretty quick and when he hits the open field he can make a lot of guys miss, but he isn't gonna be much as a RB in my estimation, maybe i'm wrong but I would be playing the guy as a receiver 90% of the time
I disagree.Quote:

I saw him in college like everyone else and I'm not all that impressed with the transition to the nfl. ILike vai said he's good in open space when he gets the ball. I'm definitely all for giving himj a couple of more years to show what he can do. But he doesn't have the speed he did in college in the nfl. I'm not saying he's slow, but the speed of the game lessens his quickness a little. He reminds me of a brian westbrook, who I dislik ebecause he's on the eagles, but he's a great player. They're both less of a running back, more receiving, at least bush is for now with deuce playing. I really wouldn't be surprised if bush blew up though next season.

I actually would not be surprised to see the total yard mark fall to him this year.
I think putting Hester on offense is a great idea. Why not try it? Also how many receivers had those numbers? 2-3? I think if he has 30-40 catches, 500 yards and a few scores he can still be a huge difference maker. Its all about causing match up problems and making the other team use all kinds of time game planning for things, ala Reggie bush and WestbrookQuote:

Hester I haven't seen unless he's lighting up the giants, which I don't like to see. He's good but I'll assume he's a dante hall until he proves otherwise. As for westbrook, he really is astud out of the backfield, unless he's actually running the ball. From what I've seen he's not much of a rusher, he's so dangerous when he gets the ball early or is catching out of the backfield. You could be right though md, he could break out this year rushing. It's a make or break year for him though I feel as far as running the ball. Again right now he's like bush, only definitely better. He gets much less respect as whenever bush makes good play espn is all over it covering it for about 20 minutes......
I'm ranting here but I hate jets fans. Two of my good friends are jets fans, and they like the so called "experts" question jacobs being able to carry the load. It''s a legit question but I doubt him and droughns will somehow fails to carry tiki's rushing yardage. Besides that jacobs has good agility for his size, and the past 2 seasons jacobs was told to run into defenders instead of avoinding them. So he's really more than a power running back. I'm not a big eli fan, but I really hate when they talk bad about him when the jets are built around mr. pennington who cannot throw more than 20 yards. Such a joke, I really can't wait for the pats to tear the jets up, or the giants to shut the jets up.
edit, apparently I had a long post but lost it, but I think i replaced it with an even longer post...... *shrug?* :p
I feel as a runner he is severely underrated. He has the onus of being too small, which is BS. Either you can do it or not, size has little to do with it. Last year he had 1200 yards rushing, a large part of that was after Mcnabb went down and the Eagles actually committed to running the ball. He averaged 5.1 yards a carry, and also caught 77 passes. As far as being a receiver, he is the best receiving back in the NFL. He does not just catch swing passes and screens, he lines up as a receiver often, sometimes on a starting corner, and still can get open.Quote:

Check this video out, and notice he actually runs with good power. Pay special attention to the still arm against the 49ers. The guy is Tiki barber without all the carries. Hopefully he gets 20 carries every game this year. If that happens the Eagles win 13 games.

I wish ESPN would stop talking about dog fighting. Seriously everytime i turn it on i hear 20 minutes of dog fighting BS and 5 minutes of lacrosse coverage. I just wanna see who won some basketball game, and I see all this BS about Vick. Ban that mother****er put him in jail and move on.
I think they should make him fight some dogs.
jeez i didn't realize he had 1200 yards. I think you're right
Patriots DE Marquise Hill has been found dead in Lake Pontchartrain.

Also, our defense spent more time on the field than most teams, and it killed our run defense by wearing them out. Thats why we lost o the siants in the playoffs IMO. If Reid has half a brain and look at the patenr of our winning streaks and lossing streaks from last year, we will have a balanced offense. Use Shawn Andrews as a battering ram and just run behind him all game.
Bummer. Sounded like a good fellow, and killed while jet skiing on Memorial Day. wth?Quote:

i've only seen highlights--do you guys think he's sort of like a Thurman Thomas type pass catching rb, but with more athleticism?
I'd say more like marshall faulk.
yea, but a bit smaller and maybe quicker?

Faulk cannot be compared, he is a legend... put SDSU on the map, Bush can only pray to smell faulk's excrement let alone be like him.

They are comparable running backs. Same style of game.
You can compare styles all you want. He didn't say he was the same level of player, just that they have similar styles.Quote:

Again, you're looking at it as a comparison between two specific players rather than a comparison of styles. There are probably a dozen or more RBs in the NFL who have the same style as Faulk. That's not to say they're remotely as good, it's just saying that their MO is similar, and that's all we're saying; that Bush's style is similar to Faulk's.Quote:

And I think that he'd have the durability for it. Sometimes too much gets made about size. None of Thurman Thomas, Emmitt Smith, or Barry Sanders were very big backs. All around 200lbs... that's it. I don't know for sure, but think that Bush could handle the workload.
And I agree... Bush has a VERY similar style to Faulk. And while he doesn't have the numbers that Faulk had (obviously), he does have the potential to produce them I think.
None of this will be written in stone for at least a few more years... but my money is on him being a very good back.
