Money can get you the things you need to get your personal achievement. It can also motivate you to get your personal achievement. He's already made his money from the fact that he's won the Heisman. Taking the Heisman away from him now is not going to diminish this fact. Let's face it, it is all about money.Quote:

Winning the lottery allows you to pay for the Ph.D. program, thus allowing you to become a chemical engineer. It's hard to believe that you actually think it's ok to break the rules just so this guy can keep his Heisman.Quote:

You're not following the conversation.Quote:

Of course that seems to have changed over the last few years, and some solid playmakers have won it recently. But OMG the 90's...
Actually, I have been following the conversation. You're trying to say that it's all about money, and it's not. If it was all about the money, Leinart would have taken the #1 draft pick status when he could have rather than come back. Bush may try to tell himself that it doesn't matter, and that he knows he won it, or whatever, but if it's taken away he'll always have that big hole on his mantle that used to have a Heisman in it, and his school will always have that huge hole where they used to have a national championship trophy. You think it didn't hurt him to not be allowed to come to USC's bowl game?Quote:

Eric Crouch is in the CFL after being drafted as a WR. Jason White retired without playing a single down after not being drafted at all. It looks like Troy Smith will be lucky to be taken even in the 2nd round. Chris Weinke was taken in the 4th round. Sure, it looks good if you win it, but the NFL looks for players first, not trophies, unless maybe you count the national championship, which vaulted Vince Young way up the draft board.
sounds to me like monro has been following the conversation a lot closer than some actual participants...sad.
I never said Bush should be allowed to break the rules, she should have the heisman stripped, USC put on sanctions and he should pay a hefty price for it...you stated that it didn't matter if he broke the rules (so it's ok) since he has a bunch of money now and it's all about the money anyways.
you still don't get it, money does not buy personal achievement....money can buy you a 4 year pass to harvard but if you are as dumb as a box of rocks it isn't going to do you any good...money can't buy intelligence, and it can't buy you the talent and skill required to earn a heisman, he can have all the $ in the world but it will never buy him the distinction of being the best football player in the country if he loses the trophy...
I think what is being said is... the Heisman trophy doesn't mean jack ****!
He got the trophy, and he got drafted high, now he makes a ton of money, if they take the trophy away he isn't going to lose his money.
true, but he will never be viewed as the nation's best player - personal achievement. That's all I'm saying, money can't replace that and if he doesn't care then it really is all about the money and jack squat else matters.Quote:

He had maybe 3 good plays this season... definitely did not live up to the hype but he has plenty of time to put on weight and adjust his game to the NFL's speed.
