my first OC

I OC'd the FSB up to 140, so its running at a stable 1.6 GHz now. Kinda hot though...44C, as I don't have the greatest fan in the world, but I'm planning on getting a new one soon enough. I tried putting the FSB all the way up to 150...computer didn't like that very much, didn't even get past the video card flash screen. :o Ended up having to reset the BIOS and then had to redo all my settings. 'twas fun though...my next project, after I get my new HS/F, is to unlock my proccy. That should prove to be interesting.

I don't think you are going to get very high. One, IBM drives suck when it comes to OCing so I wouldn't expect to get very far, a 150 FSB would probably be pretty close to the highest you can go.

But, hey that's a decent OC.

Nice start, gotta start somewhere though. ;)

Did you up the VCore? If you didn't, doing so may get you that 150MHz FSB you were shooting for.

And good job. You should know, however, that once you do this, there is no going back. You will forever try to o/c everything! :D

44c is not hot at all, under 48c is a great temp. Good Luck with more OCing :)

i hit 7400 with my tbird 1ghz at 163 FSB with my ti200 at 240/530 :)

I think I'm gonna be getting a new HSF either today or tomorrow, and then I'm gonna attempt to unlock my processor. Any tips on that, and what materials should I try to get...I know how to do it, but I may need some help on exactly what I should purchase.

I'm a little unsure on changing the VCore...any suggestions.

edit - my 3DMark Scores are now 7859. :D Trying for 8000 sometime this weekend.

Depending on your motherboard, it can be done either via bios or by jumpers on the board. It would be int he manual :D

Great job. :D Btw, I suggest having a few items handy:

1) A magnifying glass for precision.
2) Clear nail polish to fill the trench.
3) Scotch tape to out-line the bridges.
4) Defogger repair kit to connect the bridges.

scotch tape? To prevent any of the stuff from going to the other bridges?

Yep, to have perfect lines in your first attempt. :)

so you use the scotch tape as a guide? Or as a containment wall around the L1 bridge?
