what could possibly replace d2?

I dont think its possible to find a game that could EVER replace Diablo 2 as fast and as well as d2 came into my life, but its magic is waning on me and my roomie. We have been playing it ALOT everyday since it came out (2.5yrs ago?). We NEED a new game (at least 2 players) that can captivate us like D2 did. We play on a 100mb network, or over our 1.5mb DSL so we could play online too. We dont make enough money to do games like DAoC, EQ, or AO. We want a game that we can play forever pretty much (or as long as we played D2) we just dont think WC3 is going to do it for us. heres a list of our fav. games so far (keep in mind it doesnt need to be a NEW game, but a newer game)

of the other games mentioned.. i have only played HL, if you like fps then play of course ;)

PS: when i first heard of a expansion for diablo2.. i didn't play my characters until i got the expansion that was still like 6 months ahead

Are you people completely daft? Of course I have the expanison? I was first in line to buy it at Target. It even says in my list of favorite games:

meaning one of my fav games was Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction.

Please, by all means, if you succeed in your quest to find a worthy replacement for D2 let me know about it. Pre-D2 I'd buy a game, play it a few times and within a week it'd be a $50 coaster for my Mt. Dew. From the first boot, D2 on BNet sucked alot of my free time away (a minimum of 5 to 6 hours a day, 18 to 20 straight if I had the day off and the house to myself)but its now starting to wear off. I don't know if you're a Star Wars fan but Galaxies will be coming out later this year. It looks pretty good.

Have you ever heard of Neverwinter Nights ?

I would recommend Neverwinters Night like the person before did, but it seems like you are more into the fast-paced hack n slash, something that NWN won't really give you.

Did you like Baldur's Gate (1 & 2) ? If not, then forget about NWN.

If you like adventure games, pickup some old lucasarts games like the monkey island series or grim fandango :)

Like I said, it doesnt have to be the newest game ever, but me and my roomates are getting tired of it. I dont want to completely wear out the game...we tried DS and I played for 6hrs maybe? Then I gave away my DS CD's and went back to D2. Arent there any D2 clones that are close to as good? I played Planescape: Torment, and it was pretty cool. I played BG2 and it was pretty good, but it was LONG, and the Multi-Play wasnt very fun. I think whoever said Diablo 3 was right....maybe its time to just wait for a few years and play that when it comes out. when is WOW supposed to come out? Maybe that will do it;)
