now the game is capture the flag right, which means that your going to try to defend your base right? so If im near the front of my base and someone runs into it isnt it natural for me to decide to "give chase" and kill the bastard before he gets to my flag???
But NO according to all the kiddies im a DMing whore :mad: :mad: sometimes I wonder why I bother to play online anymore :(

me too. personally i think it's acceptable to do anything to protect your flag cuz it's the objective of the game. by anything I really mean anything eg. very unfair fights, exploiting game glitches etc etc
i really think it's messed up that people place so many unspoken rules in games. imho if it can be done then by all means do it. it's just a game, not some kind of sport. there's no need to be gaming ethics or whatever simply because it is a game and it doesn't matter at all. do whatever you want, including cheating.

I hope I never run into you playing online because that is a ludicrous attitude toward cheating. If you had any logically reason for taking that stance that made any kind of sense, I might consider arguing, but you don't so I won't.Quote:

I agree with dighn, but he didn't say cheating. Exploiting a game glitch is not cheating. It's the game's fault not theirs. In my view, they are just doing it over and over by "accident". :DQuote:

i also dont like people who complain about camping... i think its an integral part of many games....
as long as your not the last guy alove or doing something obviously pointless... I am all for camping
Yep. Camping should be acceptable under any circumstances. You can camp therefore you may camp. If the developers didn't want you to camp, they design the game so that you die if you camp.Quote:

I especially hate the C.T. whiners in "cs_" maps in C.S. The terrorists are supposed to guard the hostages. They are supposed to camp.
People always whine and moan about the things others do in games. What they don't seem to realize is that whining isn't going to help the situation. Just think "it's only a game."

when you play in matches for leagues like sta or tfl chasing is good to a certain point..I mean if they have the flag and they are getting out...then yeah...everyone has a right to hunt him down and chase him...but when the flag gets into the other other teams yard....it's not only annoying for the offensive people but it's also kind of stupid on your part because the place where you defended is now open so now the other teams offense now has an easy way to get into the base..and once the flag is capped they'll have a better chance of getting the flag (because your not there to defend it...and your running back to your base or killing yourself to get your health + ammo back) and thereby when you chase across the map to the other side...you screw yourself...and the team...
I have never been accused of anything when I give chase in any game. It is absolutely retarded to think that giving chase to someone who took your damn flag is breaking an unspoken rule. Anyone who says that does not know the meaning of CAPTURE THE FLAG.
Camping in games where the mode is DM is pitiful. However, games based around CTF are under the premise of guarding a certain item, which means a guard/sentry is defending that position, it is not camping and perfectly acceptable.
Giving chase is also totally acceptable in games like CTF. If they are entering your base, or trying to leave the base with your flag, hunt 'em down and kill them. That's the name of the game.
PintlesS, I see what you are talking about, but it doesn't pertain to this. What you are talking is poor strategy, not people whining about rules because you gave chase.

Yeah, I agree. I've played CS since the earlier Betas, so I know my way around the game. I started playing again about a year ago, and I'm pretty good. I was constantly getting accused of cheating on just about every server I went to, so I had to play on my clan's server.
One time I joined a server (lapd) and was one of two living CT people on de_prodigy. As I bought ammo, my teammate died, so it was my with armor and a usp against 4 ts with rifles and I didn't know where they were. So I stayed at base to prevent a plant (or to immediately rush to the other base). I killed all four of the other team, including the lapd-clan guy. Then he accuses me of camping! So I start to defend myself, and his team rushes me as I'm typing. So I kill five of them, and he says, "See you are camping!" I waste almost his entire team (4 or 5 out of 6 people, I think) the next round. So some of them join the CTs, and I auto to the T team with this guy. I start the next round by doing a knife rush all the way into the CT base, kill half their team and plant. And he STILL accuses me of camping because I stayed with the bomb!!! The next round I did the same rush, but two CTs setup an ambush. I stopped for a second and took out 1 ct and then was shooting at the other when he jumps out in front at the last minute to steal my kill (not a big deal, since I don't play for kills). I then rush ahead of the rest and kill the remaining three CTs. But then he yells at someone for blocking him in, and another guy apologizes. But he says, "Not you, the ***hole knows who he is!" So I said, "Grow up, kid," and left. Still annoying to deal with.
