Can physical location of d person be located, if u know his / her IP address? Help

i want to know, whether or not its possible to tell where does the person live, if i know his / her IP. plz donot assume dat its for hacking or other matter. i m asking generaly to increase my knoweldge. what else can we tell by looking at the Ip address. plz direct me to a good, comprehensive website or explain in detail.

You can get close with the tools provided, but if you want their street address, then no. That would involve dealing with the ISP, and hoping they track IP's with usernames or MAC addresses

With NeoTrace, you are maybe getting within a few blocks accuaracy. Not enough to hit the physical location of the residence, but enough to get the general whereabouts. That's from my experience, tracing my own address.
