8K3A+ owners i need help

My first 8K3A+ died and like the idiot i am i put all of the cables, driver cd/Disk and manuals back in the box when i returned it. The new one the computer shop gave me didn't contain the Raid driver disk, and the computer store is being a total ***** about it and not giving me another disk. To make matters worse the drivers aren't up anywhere on EpoX's site.

Could someone PLZ zip up their Raid Driver disk and email it too me. I would be forever in your debit as i run a Raid 0 setup and need it to install windows.

You guys make me sick!

My gaming rig is offline for the time being... Bios flash went bad:( and I dont have access to another 8k3a+, and an 8kha+ Bios don't work... Neither does booting the 8kha+ removing the BIOS chip, placing my 8k3a+ plus chip in, force flashing with an 8k3a+ bios, and placing back into my 8k3a... I got a new BIOS chip ordered, should be here Thursday or Friday at the most...

Hey AMD Soldier, wanna zip up your BIOS chip for me too while your at it? :D

Wow thats a headace, hope you get that cleared up. :)

Heh I'm moving in a few days, once I get broadband there (hopefully they have it heh) we can do some of that trading maybe. :D

My 8k3a+ was a dog and wouldn’t let me OC the memory or the Vid card, so I sent it back to MWave. They said that they shipped the replacement on the 3rd. It never gets here! After many phone calls (long distance) yesterday they finally admit that it never shipped, but would before the end of business yesterday. After a long rant by me, the girl admitted that the return rate on 8k3a+’s was excessive, and an extra approval was needed. Mine being an early return, it got lost in the shuffle, and was still waiting for approval.

Hmmm I just RMA'd one back to them on Monday for a refund. I Still have one that runs flawlessly. I went with a 2.0a and a EP-4G4a+. If I don't get at least 2700Mhz out of it, it's not going to be worth it, as my 2100+ breaks even with a woodie @2650. ;)

Hey thermo, just wondering, did you try using speeds over 166mhz for the fsb? When i tried any speed between about 142 and 165 then it wouldn't even boot but when i tried 166 it worked fine.

Which bios Chev? The 0328 bios fixed that issue. ;)

Yep, sure did. Hey, it would OC the CPU with ease. Just couldn’t get the memory to budge. I found out that not all of these boards had the same parts. And while they all test fine at default, only one of them OC’s well.

I've never heard that, but I know these boards can be very memory picky.

Ya, I found it in the newsies. They substituted one of the little chips because of a supply problem. The chip is some kind of signal generator.

Thermo that's most interesting news. I'm very glad you posted this. I was having a heck of time getting any kind of stability with my Ti 4200 on a FSB higher than 168. I thought maybe my video card was bad. Now I see it may not be.

As you say the FSB is highly crankable. I hit 187 with some pc2100. However, if I try to run 3DMark at even 170 and the video card is OC'd forget it.

Now I will admit that I'm still on the 3.12 BIOS but I have tested the 3.28 it has the same problem so I went back to the 3.12 since it gives me nearly 150 more points on the Sandra mem scores.

190 is the limit I can OC my Ti4600 at...anything higher and it crashes. On my unlocked XP1900+ I could hit 195fsb rock stable and run 3DMark, however, the minute I tried OCing my Ti4600...CrAsH!
:( It would've been nice to have AGPV adjust on this mobo ;)
