Dead serious. :) I'm so excited.
I got Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II and The Lion King for it. I have a couple of Mario games on the way.
What [apart from Double Dragon. it's on the wish list] would you consider to be MUST HAVES for the SNES?
zelda, metroid, uniracers, illusion of gaya, mario 4, oh my, there are just too many to list. it's an excellent system :D
Mario Kart and Chrono Trigger are my favs. Also, Tecmo Super Bowl 3 is the best Football game on the system. Super Punch Out is super-awesome. Congrats on the Snes, I wish I had one.
Heh I just got my Super Nintendo out of storage and hooked it up. It was a great system at the time although I do think the game prices got a bit out of hand. Nintendo raised their prices to 59.99 and 3rd party raised theirs to 69.99. Zelda was a good game along with Super Metroid.
Well everyone has pretty much named my essentials list already with the exception of Mario RPG. Now that was a great game!
So much for buying mine...:p
How much did you pay?
You got the Lion King? I had that game but it was too hard so I just never played it. But you need to get Flashback(its kind of like an RPG) and all the Donkey Kongs. I like the first one the best though. Congrats on your new SNES!!Quote:

I paid about $25 for the system. And about $7 per game. More than I would have liked to pay. That's why I only got 3 games. The lion king is supar fun. I haven't hooked it up since the day I got it, simply because I'm waiting until I move into the dorms [tomorrow] and can just hook it up permanently. I hate not having a TV in my room at home sometimes!
Oh, and I got the original looking one.
MUST OWN GAMES:
1. Chrono Trigger - My favorite game of all time. It's worth the 20-30 bucks on ebay for it, trust me, everyone needs to play this game
2. Earthbound - I NEED A COPY OF THIS GAME. It's supposed to be great! and I want it really badly as well.
3. Final Fantasy 3 - Excellent RPG, great storyline
4. Zelda: A Link to the Past - A port of this with a new added multiplayer mode is being brought to the GBA late this year (or early next year). You can pick it up for cheap, and it's supposed to be great.
5. Of course, the Mario and Metroid games

Really, I sold mine off a while ago on Ebay for $65. Maybe I got lucky lol.. It is a good game though.
2 words for you: CHRONO TRIGGER. One of the best RPG's I've played in a LOOOONG time(well, at least when it was new.) Seriously though, i can't put the game away. it has 15 different endings, music to die for, and a story line thats immaculate. Try and find it on e-bay if you can. Happy Gaming !

The lion king was a great game I rented it one time and played it nonstop. I did eventually beat it before I had to return it :) but it did get kind of tricky at some parts. One hard level that comes to mind is when you're riding on that darn osterich and you have to jump over those tree branches and duck under some. Not the first time you ride, that one was easy, but there is one later in the game that takes like 5 minutes (of self scrolling screen) and 46 tries to get down haha. You'll enjoy this one :)

Yes it is a great game! I had that for original NES and my game was somewhat messed up in that sometimes it would erase your saved game... so one saturday I woke up and beat it all the way through in one sitting! It took me almost all day... anyway it's a definate recommendation.
Why'd you buy it IIRC when emulators which are legal due to the SNES not being in production are out for free (along wit hthe games).
Simple answer: It's just not the same. I love holding the pad in my hands. It's just something different and wonderful. :)Quote:
