I am a bit out of touch when it comes to games, I haven't gamed in a month. I am a huge fan of JKII, and I was a hardcore CS guys before that (server and all), but I am a bit tired of JKII (even though it's been a month). I am downloading the America's Army game to give it a shot, but I want a few suggestions.
I want a first person shooter type game, I like the whole army/team/closer to reality type games. I am pretty open to anything... Thanks :)
Have you tried the battle field 1942 mp demo?
I haven't a clue as to what that is. Any info on it (I will search for it)? Also if you've tried it, tell me in a very small nutshell what you think of it. :)Quote:

Well, the 2 other FPS games I would recommend are MOH:AA and SOF2. Both are excellent games that require you to think as well as just blast away.

I'd only go with half of that. SOF2 seems to be more like all the other run-and-gun games as of now, except it's got cooler and gorier ways to make guys bleed. The original was like that too. 'Twas fun while it lasted, though.Quote:

I'd agree about Medal of Honor, but I never played it (because it doesn't seem to work :mad: ). It's based off the aging Quake 3 engine, and it's a little unrealistic sometimes, but it's fun from what I heard. Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a fun game too and it's Multiplayer is just as fun as Team Fortress Classic, but it gets even more unrealistic (Paranormal beings and Cybernetics in World War II Germany?).
There's also Freedom Force. Team-Based RPG that rips almost all of it's ideas out of the comic books of the 50's and 60's, and the visuals are quite nice. Not enough to make your 4600 sweat, but good enough.
But if you really want to dig for old stuff, try System Shock 2 or Thief 2 if you can find them. System Shock can make any grown man scared senselessly, and Thief really requires the gray matter to get the game done. Graphics aren't so great for both (since the original engine was made in '96 and they both use the same engine), but the fun factor and originality goes through the roof.
Just my thoughts.

Battle Field 1942 rocks! I will be buying the full version shortly, I just love this "WW1/drive anything/oh crap my scope sucks" action. I will also try MOH:AA since that's fits in a close catagory. Thanks for all the suggestions :)

I wasn't too sure, I was just sure that WWII ended sometime in 1945. Also, I'm pretty sure that Germany was part of WWI. I just wasn't sure when the first war ended, and when the second one began.Quote:

Well, I'm not 100% sure but I think the WW1 ended in 1918 (I think). WW2 started (officially) when Germany invaded Poland on Sept 1st 1939. England declared war on Germany a few days later. Once England declared war Australia was also at war with Germany. USA hung out a bit longer until Pearl Habour (at least officially. There were the famous Flying Tigers fighting the Japs in China for quite a while!). Once Pearl happened (Dec 6th 1941 I think) then the USA declared war on Japan and it's allies which included the Germans, Italians etc. The Russians stayed technically out of it for a while longer as it had a "non-agression" pact with Germany however this changed when Hitler invaded Russia with operation Barbarossa. Oh, and for the books, wht was the first major defeat for Germany??
Stalingrad of course! From there it was all down hill for the Axis.
