Its been too long comming but we finally have scroll CPU fans.
27 CFM at 1900rpm is an understatement because axial fans dont get close to their rated CFM when you stick a heatsink in front of them. Scroll fans do.
Anyone seen a review of it yet?

Very interesting. How does it actual get air in or out of itself? I assume it has an opening, but where is the opening?
I hope they put some out that are closer to 40cfm and are able to fit on a SLK-800:)

i'd like to see some live performance before i order one...but it is an interesting idea.
Yeah I wonder how good the heatsink is, and if the fan is interchangeable to other heatsinks (SLK-800 would be nice:D ):)
You do realize Nidec had these things for a LONG while right? Remember Silverado?

Interesting, so it sucks air from the sides and shuffles it down to the heatsink. That's pretty interesting. The only problem I would see with it is that you couldn't pull off a 'sucking' as opposed to 'blowing' thing. Then again, I suppose the way the fins are across, it would kind of do both.
It probably works fairly well though, considering there's few ways for the air to escape from. The efficiency of it could be raised considerably.

Axial fans are much better at sucking than blowing which is why they've never been ideal for HS cooling.
You wont find an axial fan pushing air down an airconditioning duct for that very reason.
I think this thing at 27CFM will move more air through a fine skieve HS than a 40CFM axial fan and it will push it through the middle, not just around the edges.

There is a local store carries them in here Vancouver. It has 70mm and 80mm version, but it costs $65 CAD ($47 USD) though. :eek:
