I am looking forward to buying some 5.1 speakers and I'd like to know your opinion about Logitech's Z-640 speakers? Are they any good? I do not want to spend lots of money and I want these speakers for my DVD.
Or what about Creative Inspire 6.1 6700?
Or Altec Lancing 251?
What do you guys think? Which of them gives the clearer sound?

I'd choose the Z640's if you do alot of dvd watching and gaming. Their music reproduction isn't that great, but it gets the job done. The Z640's has the most bass out of the three you listed.
I have the z560s which is the step below what you want and i love them so i would think the z640s would be really good.

Like SoupNazi said, for DVD's they are great. My friend owns them and is overall happy with them. Clearest sound? Hmm, well the Z-640's are bass-heavy (as are all Logitech speakers). The sateilites sound OK but I wouldn't say that they are that clear especially once you hear music on these. The Creative Inspires, IMHO, are really weak in both bass and treble. Bass is weak but somewhat clearer than the Z-640's. The midrange on the Creative's is also left to be desired and the high's sound metallic and tinny. As for the Altec's I personally wouldn't know since I have not heard these.
I recently upgraded from the Altec Lansing ACS54s (4.1) to the Logitech Z640s and was not very impressed. I think the Altecs had much better quality (although probably not as loud). That was not a high-end set either, it only cost me about $65 (canadian) while the Z640s cost about double that.
Altec Lansings AC series or the mid range Logitech speakers would probably do you nicely. If you can find them and you have a coax or optical output for your computer's sound pick up a pair of videologics digitheatre's. They are a bit older but are still some of the best digital speakers out there and you can find them at some retailers for about 80 USD.
I also have the Z560's but I wouldn't call them a "step below the Z640s". The Z640's are 5.1, but the 4.1 Z560's are MUCH more powerful and have better speaker drivers.:DQuote:

Then I have already explained myself to you again. And for you to even think that you are correct is just insane. I have over 180 evaluations on heatware and I know how to conduct business. Now for me this is strictly business and so I don't need to resort to name calling.
