I was wondering what temps everyone else is getting with their 2500+ and the sk-7 topped with an 80mm fan(or sumtin very similar)? Im gonna try to get my temps lower and I want to know what I need to shoot for, so tell me, "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO!?" Include fan RPM and what, if any, thermal grease/compound your using.
Eh.. I doubt you'll get lower than 35C and that's pretty far fetched too, I'll say. Probably aim for 40C and that already will make the core happy.
Yeah, I'm getting low 40's/mid-hi 40's idle/load w/SK-7 TT SF2 - when the weather cools down I'm hoping for better....mainly to get 2.5!!!Quote:

Ahhh, im already at low 40's idle, was hoping I could get high 30's. Maybe I need to invest in a better heatsink and fan.... :confused:
Why? Those are great temperatures. Even for overclocking they're fine. They might shoot up to high 40's if you increase the fsb along with the voltages... but even then they'll still be fine.Quote:

***, that is some pretty high temps. I have the exact same sk-7 and sf2 setup but its for a 2400+, and my idle temps are like high 20's low 30's! Does a 2500+ produce THAT much more heat?

There are a ton of factors that can change the temp of your CPU, that's why I think it's only fair to include them in a post like this. RPM comes in to play alot also, since most people use the Smartfan2...

Funny, this starts to get into the 'how do I run' kinda thing....in other words, I run my TT SF2 at about 4K rpm. I could cut 3-5C down by running full tilt....but I don't like the noise xcept for benching.
This is NOT a criticism of ZAN. I don't want ToMo to think he's running poorly, that's all.....
Yes B/C here out in CA where the parents do not turn the air on in my house, Ambent temps are upper 85F and even more. So I idle around 48C and load around 54C full load with a barton [email protected]@1.85voltcore folding for two straight days. This is with and aero 7+ and it running around 2300rpms

I have an overclocked XP2500 with a 80mm low speed panaflo fan on a SLK800. It only pushes 24cfm. I get temps upwards of 97F. The SLK800/900 is THE BEST heatsink there is. Don't let anyone else fool you.

It keeps my 1800+ pally OC'd to 2000+ speeds at 37C. And that is with my SF2 at only 3200 RPM. I can't wait til I get my T-bred 2100+:)Quote:
