My NF7 doesn't POST there are no beps or anything. I tihnk i may have killed the cpu with ESD. If the cpu is dead can it still get hot? the heatsink iss till hot when i turn it on. the lights on the NF7 for power work and my power supply is a brand new Antec and i've tried with another PSU too.. Please help!

First turn off your power source to the computer and then check and see if you have the heatsink seated properly, then put your finger on the insert key keep it there and then turn on the power source and push the power button and see if it will post. If that don`t work turn off all power to the MB again, check your manual, it will show you where the cmos jumper is and tell you what to do to clear cmos.
i've already cleared the CMOS several times. It just wont POST no beeps or anything
One other thing you might try is to take the cpu out and see if it beeps, if it don`t beep then take out your ram and If you get no beeps then I would suggest you take your MB out of the case and put it on a piece of cardboard and hookup only the basic components that you need for it to post. This will determine if the MB is shorting to the case. Do you have another MB or computer you can check the cpu in, it seems to me like the MB bio`s has gone bad and you need to get a new bio`s chip or RMA the MB back to where you bought it for a replacement or refund if it is still under warrenty. But be sure to check out the cpu before doing this. Edit to add check out the video card too.
i've already taken out the cpu and ram out to see if it beeps but it doesnt work. How do i know if a CPU is dead?
does any of your friends have a system that you could pop your cpu into?
I have the exact same problem with a new soltek board I got and all I was getting was the fans, no beeps. Well a friend came over and we tried his cpu and it was the exact same thing so it wasn't the cpu, it has to be the board. I am going to take my system to a local shop and have them look at it but your board maybe shot if you feel you did everything right. I have seen this exact problem with soltek boards recently.
I think my Bios is corrutped so i'll RMA my NF7. DO you guys know how i can decrease the chances of BIOS corruption. i really dont want to get the kit from excaliber becasue i'm broke and spent my money on new parts.

If you have the money upgrade to a NF7-S they don`t seem to have as many problems with bio`s corruption as the NF7 does.Quote:

i dont have the money so i can't upgrade to NF7-S.
does the bios corrupt when i change soft menu settings?
Yes, it will happen if you set too many settings at one time and mainly if you are OCing.Quote:

Before you RMA the motherboard try unplugging the reset wire from the motherboard and booting your system.
You have a lesser chance of it happening to you, with the NF7-S 2.0, but with the NF7 it is a hit or miss. I had 2 NF7`s, go bad on me a rev.1.2 and a rev.2.0. :(Quote:

Just rma it and get the nf7-s they are better and stabler.
