i think they are going the wrong direction with their new "EXTREMELY TACKY" looking products.. i think they are trying to emphasize form over function.. but i personally think its just bad taste (kinda like the thermaltake xasers)... :o
esp with names like "Centurion", "Praetorian", "Wave Master", "Jet"... ugh

The 747 cooler looks very *** when it's mounted on the cpu I agree. I like their cases though, different from the cliche chenming cases that have flooded the market. I think that a case should be a little different. You cant really have your custom modd'd monitors, speakers, keyboards, mice... nice to have your system a little different looking with the case.
From what I read it is pretty good, but then again the review I read says that the product looks good... so heh, I can't trust that site.Quote:

The copper heatsink looks like a SLK-900 and if you add a turbine to that.. Yeah it would cool down the CPU pretty well :) :)Quote:

Could someone explain the advantage of having this giant turbine looking thing jutting up from a heatsink?? Is it so there is no "dead spot" like conventional fans???
thats exactly what it is for, suppossedly hits the center of the heatsink... i read a good review of it not too long ago.
The only way to have a no dead spot (conventional fan) or dead area (blowers) is to have a conventional fan with no center piece, or a small cone like structure that is on the bottom with blades, like a smaller fan ...
I personally like the look of it but all reviews put it behind the Aero 7. You dont release a product designed to replace another product when it performs worse, IMO
That Jet cooler looks pretty wicked, but it would look pretty retro next to the rest of your hardware inside your computer, I can imagine. The wavemaster and that centurion case, they were backassward releases, the last AWESOME case I saw from cooler master was their ATC-201 Series, but those are freaking expensive, plus, according to Newegg, the Chenming/Chieftec/Antec cases are Aluminum; while I am having a hard time believing that, it makes me feel like I am not missing out by not overspending on a CM case. :D
But yeah, Coolermaster's recent offerings have started looking a little on the queer side. I'd prefer a grungy looking, jumbled mass of electronic nonsense to equipment that looks like it was designed for disco junkies.
