My 2 secret weapons were new geforce4 ti4200s

I know you guys were dieing to know, well now that im back and recieved the items, I shall let you know!

1. albatron ti4200 128mb. I know its not the turbro but still should overclock good. well I got a dog! the core was a3 stepping and did 300MHz but the 4ns ram only did 525! it came at 250/500 and I tried 530 first jump and got slight artifacts in the point sprite test in 3dmark 2001. I was like that cant be right and pushed the ram to 540 and artifact galore! pushed it down to 525 and all was fine. Pfffffff 128mb cards are dogs! even the albatron :eek:

2. abit siluro 64mb ti4200. I got it cheap too so I gave that one a shot. I loaded rivatuner and the core was a2. darn this might not do 300MHz and I was right. the 4ns ram which worried me did 600MHz which is amazing for 4ns! the 128mb albatron was also 4ns but sucked! Is there some plague with 128mb? do they use crap ram for the 128mb? The core locked up at 300MHz and at 295 had mild artifacts in the lake in nature. 290/600 was my final results and my score did not go up over 300/590 that my triplex ti4200 did, but the triplex one had 3.3ns ram so I was shocked the ram maxed at 590! seems like ns rating is a moot point!

3. got another ti200 for $30 so I was like what the heck ill try. that thing(PNY) did 220/490 which is ok but not great. my chaintech overclocked like a beast at 250/525 and I am not kidding, on air, no mods!

4. my corsair pc3000 xms ram failed to work stably at any speed. wouldnt even load windows past 166fsb. guy who sold me that ram says it may not be compatable with my mobo and told me to resell it which I did and someone bought it now easily on ebay.

5. I had sold my old corsair pc2700 ram in antiprecation of the new ram so now im using pc2100 ram and running my xp2000+ stock for now, I have corsair value 256mb pc3200 ram on the way and that thing better do over 200fsb, 215 would be nice at 2-2-2-6-t1 timings.

6. I am not having a good day or much luck :( ah well im just happy to be healthy and back from the hospital. If that ram wont do it, then forget 15k marks ill just wait for the a64 to mature and drop in price. Ill enjoy other things such as computer games, my pet fish and collecting coins :) my rig is way fast enough for games even at 14600 marks :)

Welcome back Thunderbird1GHz! I didnt think you would come back? Hope your getting better.

Any ways not all GF4ti4200 128mb OC like dogs. Well atleast sapasion got his up to 315/599 with his gainward. Oh and your sig is a little outdated ;).

this Asus V8420 I have has done 310/620 and I think thats quite good but I am too scared to run it at that speed, so its now running at 300/600. I do not care about points but I did notice that some games played a little bit better, looked more fluid, especially BF1942.

The 64MB MSI Ti 4200 actually has 3.6 ns RAM I think. I had the 128MB version, that came with 4 ns and would easily overclock to 600 MHz from 446 or whatever the stock was.

wow thats a crazy overclock. of course its luck too. I could get 280/550 or 350/700 for all I know. I dont even think I should bother with another ti4200 except perhaps if its already overclocked :D and it better be guaranteed too. Ill probably break 15k with my 290/600 if my new ram shines and thats enough, time to save my cash later down the road for an a64 and also games like HL2 :D

the odds are quite in favor of a 64mb and I shall change my sig soon, wait for my ram to come ;) better get your barton and fsb higher too!

nice, I owned a gainward 64mb that did 280/560 wasnt happy and resold that :mad:

nice. shows what a beefier cpu can do, but your ti4400 is like 310/690 which totally eats my 290/600. Intel rigs are faster but very expensive. ill be happy with 15k on mine and its a ti4200 too :)

when prices drop to like $50 I shall collect one of those as well, but my ti4200 shall be my primary card and my goal for 15k. dont want any other card, well besides those in my sig but the ti4200 is the spotlight. I remember when I had a ti4600 I ate you by like 30 marks cause my cpu was only 2.09GHz. Now the tables could turn itll be interesting if I eat you with a ti4200 :D I know it wont be easy but ;)
