What's so spankin great about this card? The only big diff I see is that supports 7.1, which I doubt many people have. I'm thinkin about gettin an A2 platinum, because I'm gonna lose my remote to the Ultras. Or, an anyone reccomend any remotes?

On a sidenote, are the original A2's discontinued because of the new ones?
*edit: ohh yea 100 posts, i'm a catfish! :p
hehe. congrats! i eagerly await 5K (even though it probably won't be for like, a billion years), so I can put up a funny icon.
The main difference between the ZS and the ordinary A2 are:
1. Slightly better SNR ratio
2. 7.1 output
3. DTS software decoding
4. EAX 4.0 support
5. Optical outputs, I believe
6. No firewire port
I pretty sure A2 owners will get features 3 & 4 in an upgrade patch.
Anyone know of any detailed reviews for ZS?
I think it's so new that no one has reviewed it yet. Audigy 2 users shouldn't have anything to worry about.;)Quote:

does the A2 use an IDE cable to connect the device from the card to the I/O port in the front?
dang, i'm all over this sound forum like a fat kid on a twinkie.
I just bought the audigy 2 zs.battlefield 1942 sounds awesome with this card.HUGE step up from onboard realtek sound.I have found out you will get the best sound in games when you turn off cmss(creative surround sound)which is meant for music and not gaming anyway.I also bought a jbl 4.1 speaker set called the invader-awesome sound from these speakers. So far it is well worth the money :D

Anyways, I'm interested to hear reviews comparing the A1, A2, and ZS.
So far I'm still kinda sold on the Revo, but I think I might be gaming more, ever since I started playing UT my video card has been working out alot more :)
heh, i don't even play games anymore. maybe when H2 comes out. hopefully i can run it at a decent speed. i don't wanna invest in a that powerful of a machine anymore, it's worthless to me. i just do work on it and play music.
Is the Audigy 2 ZS an upgrade from the original Audigy 2?
Yes.Quote:

I recently heard the new Audigy 2 ZS in a new system I built. Between the original Audigy 2 and the new ZS, I personally believe you would notice a difference and prefer the ZS. It seems to sound even better with music (somewhat cleaner and tighter).
Edit: The ZS card still resamples all 44.1kHz streams to 48kHz, like the older Audigy cards do. However, Creative has improved the output of the resampling which upgrades the output quality even more.
