my 21" is nice, but a 24" is nicer :D a 24" CRT would be the ultimate IQ in games. notice I do not want widescreen, but normal 4:3 ratio :)

You must be getting a new video card then...
I don't think I've seen any 24" displays that aren't widescreen. The one's I saw that came up on Google are about $1800 unshipped too.
Why do you care about game IQ when you don't even play games?
Remember, 3DMark isn't a game. :o
I'm sure that your 21" displays 3Dmark01 just fine.
i wonder what a 24" would weigh
alot I guess and you know monitors display 2-d and with a 24" I can surf the web in 1600x1200 anyday without having to move close to see the small text. There has to be some nice 4:3 24"

HAHAHAHA! He wants to spend well over a thousand dollars to surf the net in 1600x1200...
Why not spend that money on destroying that 64 meg antique of yours and picking up a nice 9800pro eh? :p
Can your card even display IE at 1600x1200? ;)
agreed :DQuote:

heh no, im looking for one around $300 man(used). plus my 21" can do 1600x1200 easy but everything would be so much larger and better on a 24" plus id like to get a used trinitron flat CRT with .24 or better dot pitch. basically at least the same quality as mine but 3 inches larger :D
first of all i have never seen a 24inch 4:3 crt monitor. you can get bigger, but it wont be a flat screen. second of all, even if there was a such thing, there is no way in hell you would find it for $300 used or otherwise.
I don't think you'll be finding ANYTHING that you want for $300. Don't forget, a monitor(especially a big one) is pretty useless unless it has a refresh rate of at least 85hz. Some may disagree, but at this size...
if you ever find one of those $300 24" monitors let me know....
You should get an LCD projector and surf the web with that.:D
I can tell you for a fact that Sony doesnt make any 24" 4:3 CRTs. They might lease their tube design to someone that does. But I have never seen one, ever. And I agree with speedstream5621, if it cant do 85hz you're brain will explode. The lowest RR I can stand is 75hz.
edit---
75hz for 2D but 85hz is bare min for 3D stuff
You wish :pQuote:

In 4:3 format, what you are looking for does not exist. Sony did/does(duhno) made/makes(once again no idea and too lazy to check) a 24" Trinitron CRT, but it was widescreen format. However, it was close to $2k. At that price you can get an HDTV, and just use that as a monitor.
