wow man, he is not an inch from 2nd place, hes totally ahead by like half a mile from Macci, whos in 2nd place. Of course Macci may be waiting for an xp3400 and possibilly a radeon9800 XT. Someone predicted 28k will happen end of this month. 5 more days left of October, I wonder if Opp. will hit 28k? I do know if he can find ram thatll run in sync 1:1 at 276 fsb he will gain big, perhaps mid 28k :eek: of course timings matter as well. I dont doubt ram can do 276fsb but at like 3-4-4-11 and this is crap :( If 28k is reached end of oct, then we need 29k at end of nov and 30k at end of dec. 30k before the year 2004 would be a big feat indeed :D Next would be 40k, 50k and 100k would be a big milestone. I remember when 10k was then 15k then 20k 20k has already been reached on a ti4200, but imagine 30k on a ti4200. That may be several years off though :(

They are right on schedule. 28K will fall before OCT ends, but 30K won't fall until next year. 28K is as far as the current hardware is going to go. It will max out at around 28.6 or so.

I dont know for sure if 28k will fall, but if Opp. or someone else can push the cpu just a bit higher, then yes itll happen. Also what about the 9800xt? is any of the front page guys gonna give that a try? Maybe the XT's can OC higher, even 10-20MHz more helps alot when you want every last mark. Also factor in faster ram. I am almost sure the xp3400s will come mid nov and since the xp3400s use a higher multi, the fsb and ram wont be such a limit. 276x11=3.03GHz if Opp. can push the xp3400 as far. Also what about the p4 "ee" and prescotts? if those come by mid dec like speculated then you see 30k might happen, if not it may be close. I wouldnt be supprised if the top score is near 40k when the r420 and nv40 arrive. anyway dont flame me since this is speculation and I do not consider it a fact in any manner, just my views :D so there!!!!!!! :)

i know of a couple of guys who have the XT and they are not too happy with the OC. The ram goes a little higher, but the core has about the same ceiling as the 9800 Pro. Nobody has Vmoded, or used supercooling on it yet so we will have to wait and see what happens. IMO I don't think they are going to OC any better. It basically the same core.

Yes the 3400 will help, but once again I don't think the 3400, or the P4 EE are going to provide enough horsepower to get past 30K. We will all have to wait for next year to see the sparks fly with the next generation of hardware.

Hm... Why is oppainter running dual channel? :confused: Doesn't it lower the max potential FSB?

Sapasion gets a higher overclock in DC than he does in SC I believe. Sure his KT333 doesn't have dual channel, but I think he has two sticks wich is essentially the same.

I'm sure OPP knows what he's doing.

Having 2 sticks of RAM running in SC isn't the same thing as running them in DC.

1) How did I know you would mention a ti4200, I wish these cards didn't exist so you'd shut the hell up about them.

2) 100k? If your still using 3dmark 2001 in 2006, your a moron.

Yeah, why would we imagine a TI4200 doing that when we could imagine a MUCH better card doing MUCH better? I'd rather imagine my 8500 doing 30K anyway because of the better IQ...
