should the grill/front face up or down?
afaik you want the air blowing towards the heatsink to cool it, if your fan came preinstalled with a grill sometimes you have to take the grill off and put it on other side if it is on the wrong part.
This is argued quite often. With an SLK, I'd blow into it. You could always try both!
I tried mine both ways and it cools better with it blowing towards the heatsink.
Why the hell would you have it facing away? It cools way better facing towards it. I took the grille off mine so that it could bring more air through.
Aye I dont see why you would want to "suck" up the heat from the heatsink, or how that would even work. Although sucking it would be cool if you took like an slk how it only has 2 exits (the air on opposite sides) and somehow mount like 60mm or smaller fans to both of those blowing air inwards and having the fan up top sucking out all that hot air.
I think the idea with it pointing away is to draw hot air off the heatsink but in a way that makes it act as passive cooling, by the time the air reaches the fan it is far away from the cpu anyways.
Edit: to better clarify, when i was puting my Tornado in, I had to remove the grill to get it to fit seeing as how I did not have the fan on, I did not realize I had it on the wrong way, but I was able to find out by this accident that there is a 2 to 3C differance in having it moving air away from the heatsink, compared to it moving air through the heatsink.

No, I think the Mods orght to tell you to stop using it, in my opinion its worse then the rolleyes one they did do away with. That is all I have to say on this subject.Quote:
