Hmm whats the CPU on that thing. My bro's Brothers Palm Tungsten has a 400MHZ Xscale processor. If you wanna game on a Palm you need a good CPU. Because that is all that is ever gonna count.
OH yah, I heard you can download GBA games for your palm or PDA. Not sure where though.
WOW, and I have the same PDA!
How did you do this? Tell me please!!!
Oh, wait, that would be horribly expensive with all the SD cards you would have to buy:(
I doubt each game is that big ;) That seems cool, how'd you function that if I may ask?
Awesome, playing Chrono Trigger
Looks like you turned your PDA into a Zodiac.
I have an ipaq 2215 but havent looked for any good emulators yet. could you pm me or e-mail me some details about them?
thanks
well heres the run down if you want to emulate on a pda (i believe emulators are legal just roms arnt, so this post should be within boundaries)
i dont know anything about palm based devices, only pocketpc
- if you want to play NES games, pocketNester is the best program and runs 100% on just about any pocketpc out there
- if you want to play SNES games you need some horsepower... it will run fine on most xscale/strongarm devices... WITHOUT SOUND.. if you want sound, you need an Intel PXA255 or higher cpu clocked at 472mhz (use an overclocker like xcpuscalar)
- The best and free SNES emulator is Morphgear
- GBA games also require alot of power, Morphgear plays GBA but its not free, PocketAdvnce is a free one
- FPSe is the only full speed Playstation emulator out there.... it runs most games pretty fast on a 400+mhz pxa255 cpu... however you need a HUGE flash/SD card to store the game ISO
What are the specs on that thing and how much did it cost?
the one in that picture is a toshiba e355... it has a intel xscale pxa255 300mhz (overclocked to 500mhz) and 64mb of ram + i have a 512mb SD storage card for games and mp3s.... it goes for about $200Quote:

People overclock PDA's? What are the risks involved? Any heat related problems or any other issues with doing so?Quote:

they dont run hot enough (barely any voltage) to get damaged.. if you overclock it too high, it will simply just shutdown/etc.... just reset and start overQuote:

From what Iv seen at the Morphgear boards in the last couple of days you don't have to worry about heat or a self destruct because of the low voltage of the PDA processor. Overclocking drains your battery and cpu life though and the quality is dependent on a good cpu batch just like your desktop PC.Quote:

So how much is a PDA with a stock 500mhz+ cpu?Quote:

ROFL overclocking PDA's, why am I not surprised someone from Sharky did that. Reminds me of tim the toolman taylor.
no such thing yet.... fastest on the market is the intex xscale pxa255/261/263 400mhz.. but they are all pretty much guaranted to hit at least 100mhz overclockQuote:

the thing is, just like amds and intels.... clock speed isnt everything.. an xscale pxa250 400mhz is no faster than a 200mhz strongarm.. howver a pxa255/261/263 is about twice as fast... and the samsung 206mhz cpu is faster than a 300mhz pxa255
the absolute FASTEST and best for gaming pda is the asus a620 which goes for about $300 at places like proportable.com or mwave
