BioHazard Project
Hey guys. Just to let you guyz know I just placed a pretty hefty order over at FrozenCPU.com with my case window, some extra fans, fan grills, UV lighting, green lighting, UV wire sleeving, wire management, a few other goodies and my Thermalright heatsinks. I should be getting them the 28th after the PayPal payment from the checking account goes through wich normally takes a few business days.
My goal is to make a very clean wiring setup and a cool and original lighting scheme using a mix of UV lighting for my wire sleeving and green ambient lighting. Probably nothing that special for most of the experienced modders out there but this will only be my 2nd mod and I intend to have my wiring as clean as Voodoo PC's, Alienware's and the like. The extra fans I ordered are two 92mm Sunon fans, one for the side window and one for the top blowhole. I ordered 3 92mm lasercut BioHazard grills for my CPU fan and the two extra case fans. I would've like to have BioHazard fan grills on all my fans but my Antec case holds the case fans with some fan brackets instead of screws so I wouldn't be able to add the grills to them.
I'll post some pics of my case in its current status later so you guys can see were my case stands as of right now. And once work begins I'll post some pics of my progress.

Good luck! and btw what case is this?
-
Its a black Antec SOHO PerfII. The big, heavy ones with the drive door up front.
-
Woops I think I posted this in the wrong forum... Can a mod move this to the Completely Custom forum please?
-
Well I got back from father's day partying and I got around to taking some pics of my case in its "Before" state. Sorry for the low quality images, they were taken with the only digital cameray I have, the one on my celphone.

As you can see my wiring is already nice and neat, all I need to do now is spend an afternoon sleeving every cable. I cut off the AUX and the fan sensor leads from the PSU and covered the stubs with some red electrical tape and a tie wrap around it, that leaves two less uneeded cables out of the case. The stubs aren't noticeable unless you're really snooping around the base of the PSU.
Another thing I did was remove all the messy adapters needed to connect my TT SFII fans to my Vantec Nexus controller. I cut all the wires up and spliced them to custom lengths. Basically the fans are wired up in pairs to a single channel on the Nexus.

Waaa!! Waaa!! No one is posting their comments on my little case moding project. I'm a sad geek :(
J/K
No but honestly, any constructive criticism on my mod plans are welcome. I should have my gear in by next Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

It seems like a good project, I think you should post a link to it in the completely custom forum since a mod hasnt moved it yet.
-
All moved. Hey sounds like a good little project. Can you borrow someones camara, need to see some good PICS. Keep us posted on the modding project.
-
I'll have to play some real life Deadly Shadows and step into Garret's shoes and "borrow" my sisters camera. ;)

Hey Taz... I came accross this little tip at overclockers.com and I'm very interested in trying it out for this little project. Do you think I should take the plunge?
Make your Motherboard glow with UV clear paint
I'm thinking making it glow green.
I'm still not sure how I'm gonna setup my lighting but I ordered a dual 12" green ccfl kit and a dual 12" uv ccfl kit. I'm trying to see if I can light everithing green and use the uv ccfl lighting to make my wire sleeving glow red over the green ambience.
-
If you could get that lighting to all work out (which I think it should), that would definitely look cool!

Work has begun. I got all my gear yesterday and so far I'll I've been doing is playing with my new Thermalright heatsinks and my Overclock tweaking. I did get around to sleaving my first to PSU cables before the night was over though, the P4 power cable and the big 20pin ATX power cable. I'll get some pics up when I'm done sleeving the PSU and the loose case wires. But its gonna take me some time as I'm pretty busy lately. I might be done by the end of the weekend if all goes well.

Damn, I would be a little scared. If you tape it up real good that would be cool. There is another option. The have PENS/MArkers that you could use to outline your MOBO. Safer and still pretty cool.

That looks cool, but the glowing motherboard is just so impressive...
But anyways, I didn't get any of the clear paint in this order, just some sleeving, fans, fan grills, lights and the window mod. When I'm done with all this I'll see in what other direction I'll want to take this. I know I forgot to order UV reactive IDE and SerialATA cables wich will probably force me to place another order over at FrozenCPU soon. In wich case I might just get the paint and have a swing at it with an old video card first and then go for the mobo. :)

Well I got some work done on this project. Finished sleeving up my PSU. That was some damn hard work, took me like 6 or 7 hours of labor to get it all done but it looks friggin SWEET!!! :D Well here's another low qual picture thanks to my celphone. Its my fully sleaved PSU.

:o I really gotta get my hands on a good camera for these pics. I was gonna take a pic of it mounted on my case with the UV lights in a ghetto mounted position just to get a preliminary view of the UV effects but the UV lights overshine on the celphones crappy camera. Rest assured I was playing with my two light kits and I got the whole lighting thing down. Its gonna look sweet! Only thing is that one of the UV lights is going to be visible through the window but the green lighting is so bright that it doesn't cast a purple shine around it so its fine I guess.
Well I'm gonna keep sleaving the rest of my wires tomorrow and try to get my window and top blowhole cut on saturday or sunday to finish it all up.
