hmmm, I'm not 100%, but maybe it means it will support up tp 2.4GHz? Intel hasn't released aything in awhile, so whoo knows.
No man, it means that the fan speed will cool a processor that runs under 2.4Ghz....maybe overclocked, but the p-4s are VERY hard to overclock. Its a good fan..Quote:

Does this mean there is an impending release of a processor running above 2 ghz??? I know that intel have been showing off CPU's running at3/3.5 Gz at shows but i didnt think they were begining to put procescers like this into production.
Any comments?

Where did you hear about 2.2 in 2 weeks? Everything I have seen points to Jan 2002. It would be interesting if they pushed up the release to keep up with the Athlon XP.
------------------
1 GHz T-bird @ 1120, 224 MHZ FSB
512 MB PC133 SDRAM
Abit KT7-Raid
45 GB IBM 75GXP HDD
Pioneer 16x/40x Slot DVD
Creative 12x10x40x CDRW
SB Live Value
Logitech z-560's
ASUS V7700 Deluxe GF2 GTS
KDS 19" shortneck monitor
Enlight 7237
typo, i think.
The 2.2 GHz "Northwood" was originally supposed to debut in September, then late November. That only recently got pushed back to Jan 2002.

The p4 is a very overclockable chip its the RD-ram witch limits the chip this can be overcome using a SDR or DDR ram platform https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gifQuote:

i've heard its prossible to get the P4s to
10Ghz!!!
Why are the Pentium4's so hard to OC? How high do you think a 1.4 GHz p4 (with PC-800 RDRam on an Asus P4T) could be OC'ed?
My rough guess would be around 1600 MHz to 1700 MHz. Just don't lower your RAMBUS multiplier to get higher speeds, you'll end up with less performance.Quote:
