Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 Demo!

Hey guys,
The demo was just released for this game. It looks kickass.

Mine went around 200-250KB for the first 20MB, then it went all crappy. This sucks. :(

Finally, Thank god I can safely say that this one kicks the PS2 version in the ***. My neighbor has the PS2 version, and despite me thinking it was unnbeatable, lo and behold I was wrong... the PC VERSION IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!!! w007!1111111111

haha, despite the wait at fileplanet, I managed to download it in one hour (the wait), and 5 minutes (the actual download).

:)

The game is sweet.
The cars look awesome.

Although I would have liked more realistic physics like those found in NFS Porshe, and damage done to the car (the damage was so insignificant after a HUGE crash).

No spike strips? :(

It is just a demo though remember. It should have spike strips and all the other goodies in the full version. There is damage to cars but it doesn't affect them though which kind of sucks but oh well.

As an avid NFS fan, I think that this can be one of the best if not THE best NFS yet. I love the graphic's, the sound is awesome (even on my NON 5.1 Sblive) and the cars are great! I can't wait for the full version on PC. I have a PS2 but personally I would rather mod cars, tracks and such. Also, the matrix type camera is cool too but I'm sure I'll turn that off when I get bored of it :cool:
Edit: Looks like I'll have to upgrade my system if I want to play the game at max details...

is anyone else with an ati gfx cards having problems with this game? if it doesnt freeze after the first few turns then i get these crazy graphics anomilies. does anyone know of a fix for this? cause after just playing for a few seconds i like the way the game looks and i like the physics of the game and i really wanna play

Yes, I can usually squeeze out 15+ minutes of play, but I still tend to get freezes. I also get some anomalies when I enable FSAA and AF. I like the game so far,but I have been playing with a keyboard cause my gamepad is screwed.. gonna invest in a couple good analogue pads when I get the full retail so that I can run some SWEET network racing with friends.

There is a known bug. It says so in the readme file but it should be fixed by time the game is released.

Heh, if u scroll down in the topic list u'll see my post where i say the PS2 version is the greatest racing game ever made :D I really hope the PC version can top it :)

i read the readme and just turn the graphical detail down a notch and now it works perfectly

well heres another on the 'to buy' list... very nice indeed..
BUT I have one major complaint... the in the car view.. so far all you get is the speedo and the tac? Whats up with that? Wheres the dash?
Hope this is only this way in the demo and in the full game you can get into the car to race and zoom...

Ahhhh such fun.. now to avoid wanting to jump ramps like I almost did when playing NFS-3!

This has got to be the most perfect driving sim ever. Move over GT3, Hot Pursuit 2 kicks ***, and the PC version is even better than the PS2, simply incredible!! w007!!!!11111111111

Holy cow .. it's simply breathtaking! I never bought a PS2, and I was always jealous over GT3 ... But this demo and the full game will definately fill that void. ;)
