Jello Pudding Addiction.

past week I've been putting some computers together..

and it's usually done at night time so there's nothing going around and and kinda boring.

during installation of win98/win2k I would be waiting and as luck would have my client's fridge have alot of Jello Chocolate pudding snacks...

long story short I've been eating like 3-4 cups of those things everynight.. the box say it's 140calories... are they that bad?

stop laughing at me.. what do you guys in a situtation like mine where u have to wait for systems to load?

I either stare blankly into the monitor until it's done, or i get somee food and watch tv.

i usually sit and stare at screen.

If i get up I always keep running back to see if its finished yet.

I normally keep food with me when I'm working so when it's loading/installing or worse yet... installing an OS from floppies... I can have me some food while I wait and stare blankly at the monitor lol :D Jello pudding is some good stuff now. You've gone and made me all hungry, but alas I have no pudding :(

I would talk on the phone, snack on some food or just stare blankly at the screen.... I was at a clients of mine upgrading there old 386 Novell server to a Dual proc server and upgrading there data. They had left at 6pm that day and locked me in the office until they returned 8am the following day.

I didn’t have any food on me nor did I have the keys to leave the office. So they had this candy thing in the box. The good faith kind, where you X amount of money for whatever candy. But its not a vending machine. So I had a few of those :D and they always had a stock pile of office supply of Pepsi.... Got to love free Pepsi...

It all depends on what the client wants done. While I am waiting for something to finish, I would move on to the next item to be completed. Just to save time.

I deal with this customer on a daily basis that I have my own set of the office keys, my own alarm code (rofl) and she makes sure her fridge is well stocked in the lunch room for me.

Got to love all those perks :)

It's a hard choice, but if you somehow combine the two you can't go wrong ;)

I tend to remain in the same room when I'm working on a machine, purely because I have such great luck with things going wrong that I like to be nearhand to retain my cursing to one room and fix the problem so that I can get on with life lol :)

Lol... I was actually thinking the same thing, but didn't mention it :D

Somewhat back to the topic... what type of updates and so forth do you guys do most often? I'm taking it many of you do this for a living (or at least this is one thing you do for a living). Me being a college kid.. I just get big client jobs sparatically, normally networking and system hardware upgrades, occassionally a big software overhaul. Nothing major like server integration, etc.

Most often??? I don’t think there is anything I do that is considered repetitive... Well except installing the OS. :)

I always apply the updates from Windows Update, Upgrade IE to latest version and apply various patches for most software bundles my clients use.

Hahaha, Me too. I ususally go into some sort of a mini-trance and then
snap out of it periodicaly like some old Tomcat...zzz:D

I will wait, but it so much better to wait if the program that is installing has some information screen about the software you are going to install though.

If you only eat food that taste like crap the addiction goes away :)

while i'm waiting for OS to load, i flick my KVM switch, and browse the web, or play some Diablo.

It's much better than staring at the install screen.

Lol...Back when they were inventing the wheel I had a flooring business. One time I went on a marble install and the client said they were leaving for the day. I went down to the basement to shut-off water to the icemaker and I heard what sounded like a herd of buffalo running down the steps. I see a doberman pincher rounding the corner so I slammed the laundry room door in its face. Everytime I peaked out I was met with teeth and growls. I was stuck in the laundry room talking to the washer and dryer for 6 hrs because I had left my cell upstairs on the kitchen counter.

I just wheel my chair around and play Super Smash Brothers. Or maybe go downstairs and munch on something. This is obviously in my house, I'm too young to actually do any buisness in this :p
