Edit: New dets dropped me to 97**...went back to the ones I got 9991 with, and I only got 9940...any ideas on how to break 10k w/o overclocking the card?
I broke 10k with no OC w/the 30.82's. Don't have the PNY, but do have a 4200 - see my sig.
Which set are you using? IMO 40.72 gives the highest scores. You can also drop you mipmap level to best performance which can result in a couple hundred extra points. Of course OCing the card which is quite safe could net you almost a thousand points if you can crank it high enoughQuote:

Have you tried the 40.72`s and the 40.52`s are good for benchmarking too.
Nope! It is truly a great value :).Quote:

Would I see decent video performance increase if I cranked my FSB up some more? The highest temp I see is 43c (40c in a cool room..43 in a hot room) under full load. I do need a better power supply..but think I could hit 2.4Ghz?
Edit: Using the 4.0.7.2 drivers.
Broke 10k! Dropped mipmap to best performance..haven't o/c'd yet.

You are sooooo close to 10k it must drive you nuts! You know what might do it for you,,set your ram timming from its stockQuote:

2.5-3-3-6 to 2-2-2-5
or just try setting the cas2.5 to 2 that may be enought.:)
I hit 10k :D
My RAM is actually underclocked (PC2700 running at 133mhz)..think I could kick the timings to a more aggressive setting w/o any problem? Or..should I push my FSB? ;) :D
I have a stick of Crucail and a stick of OEM "Exir" generic brand. Both sticks run fine at 2-2-2-5 from their stock settings of 2.5-3-3-6. So give it a try.:)Quote:

I'm catching you...maybe eventually.. :p
Got 10324 this time :D
Updated screenshot on page one.
if you oc your cpu and video card you can hit 12k
lol..already at 2.133Ghz on a 1.6a :DQuote:

this is sad, I am getting 7930 marks at stock 250/445 ti4200 speeds on a 1GHz thunderbird at 143fsb, your cpu should perform 50% better since p4's are crap anyway but yours is more than twice the core speed. This means 12k marks if you oc the video card, go easy on the core, it locked up before artifacting
Please tell me why a Northwood Pentium 4 is crap.Quote:

You're just jealous.. ;) ..and ask anybody..I used to be die-hard AMD. I'll now use either one -- they're both fast.
Here is the best score for a TB 1Ghz with a 4200 "9066"Quote:

Compare link AMD 1ghz/w4200
This is a P4 1.6(not O/ced) with a 4200 "9984"
P4 1.6 with 4200 compare link
A P4 @2ghz is "12682"
Compare link P4@2ghz

you paid 3 times for your cpu as I did mine(free, took from bros old comp actually) and p4's do less MHz per MHz. If a p4 was underclocked to 1GHz it would get well below what my Tbird does. also your cpu at stock is 60% faster, but you get ~25% more marks, make that ~15% after ocing my video card. If I had an athlon XP 1600+ I would get like 14k marks
God I hate the AMD clock per clock arguement and better price BS.Quote:

P4 3.06=$543 XP 3000+=$555(No HS/fan)
P4 2.8=$345 XP 2800+=$360
P4 2.66=$233 XP 2600+=$246
P4 2.4=$160 Xp2400+=$130
All the P4s above can overclocked much much higher without effort if you want. Then their performance is not even close any longer.
