Yeah I just got it together today.
Sweet what the developers had done.
And in PCGAMER they mentioned that the technology that wasn't ready for HL2 will be implemented in HL3!!!

hehe, everyone is talking about Doom3 being the "big" reason to upgrad there cpu/gpu. By the looks of HL2 I think we had all better get ready to upgrade sooner than expected :D This is going to be one incredable game.....eye candy galore.

They have an article about it in Computer Games also.Might wanna get this magazine to.That article said "its plan is for it run(barely) on a Pentium 3 700 with DX6 class video card.Its optimal target is a 2ghz system with a Geforce 4". Doesnt sound like too steep of requirements.They wanted to make sure the counterstrike guys with the old equipment could run it also.Valve said an enormous amount of them still have TNT 2 level video cards.:eek: :D

I dont think HL2 will tax your system more then Doom3.. I am looking for both those games to be released :)

There's a reason they kept this game under wraps for so long. This game, in my eyes, is the only contending FPS to Doom 3 and dare I say it, it may even outsell D3.

Has anyone seen the 9-part demo videos out there? Holy Friggin Cow is all I can say. The physics are just too wild! This game will definately give D3 a run for the money. I expect I'll need some form of psycho-therapy after playing one, or the other, or both!
Can anyone confirm if this game will still run in s/w mode. I love playing the original CS in s/w mode cuz I am still using a 2mb S3 968 PCI video card.

From what i hear, D3 is the only game thats gonna come remotely close to H2, which would imply that Half life 2 is gonna be the head honcho. My guess is that D3 wont have a chance.Quote:

I honestly think the only engines that come close from now until 2005 to Doom III will be Kreed and Half-Life 2.

Are you allowed to just scan the mag like that? I figure that would be copyrighted material... but maybe not oh well nice pics but I saw that 500mb trailer/demo/e3 (I'm guessing it was E3) movie of HL2 - very impressive stuff :)

Well, I'll HAVE to play Doom 3 no matter what. Those guys are my Homeboys- only because I'm from Dallas, heh - and I grew up with the game alongside good ole' Duke. BUT, there is no comparrison. HL2 is by far the most advanced game I've ever seen. I'm drooling watching the 500meg movie... the wife came home, saw the hard-on, and assumed I was happy to see her. Poor, poor thing.
