Hey guys what do you think of the computer I just configured (in my sig)? It'll be assembled fairly soon. Within a couple weeks.

Ditch that Zalman HSF and go with a Thermalright SLK-900U, now thats some serious cooling for that rig...
I think I just shat myself reading that!

Do you really need to list IDE cables in your sig?

edit: IDE cable removed.
Curious, what was the total cost for your new rig?
I had ABS custom make it so it's $2600 total. tad expensive.Quote:

Great looking rig you've got there Ishak540m.
What do you think I could pull Benchmarking it @ stock and then overclocked?Quote:

Ahhh....you could have built it yourself for $500 less. ;)
Very nice rig though. :)
If you say so. I decided not to do it myself a long time ago. I did the math as well. I live in California. You have to account for the taxes. etc.Quote:

Ok...that makes more sense. What's it, like 8% tax? I guess the warranty etc. count for something also. I've always built my own rig so i'm certainly biased towards doing it that way ;).
8.25% in Los Angeles. I work too much to be able to fix something myself so an onsite service warranty is important to me as well.Quote:

Why did you go with the FX 5900 Ultra?
I would guess a little over 17K stock and 19K or more overclocked if you are using 3D Mark 2001 SE.Quote:

My first rig was a PI 150MHz IBM Aptiva with a kick a$$ HP Deskjet 600 and 3 year warranty for a fat $3500.Quote:

I bought a P200mmx rig for about 3.5K also. That was way back in the day though...it had all the goodies. Computer prices have gone down a lot in the last 10 years, especially if you factor in inflation. That 3.5K rig would be like $4500 today (estimation based on 3% inflation over 10 years).Quote:
