Sorry, I am totally horrible at math. Can someone help me with this?
If I scored a 646, what would that be as a percentage?Quote:
The exam is graded on a scale of 100 - 900. The minimum passing score is 646.
Go ahead and laugh it up.:(

*Runs to get Steven Hawkings phone number*
Well he told me it was a 71.7777777777778 percent...whatever that means:confused:
Ok cool. Thank you!
Seems like I got more studying to do =\
I've been scoring 64%-69% on my reviews. I've always been that guy who does just enough to get by.
Because, why, as long as you've passed? :p

All you have to do is divide 900 into your score.;)
You can't just do that because it starts from 100.
It's not the same as scoring 646 out of 900 (0-900)
edit: so the answer is not 71%
I believe it's 546/800 = 0.6825
68.25%
Correct me if I am wrong

If you just subtract 100 from everything to remove the offset everything works..
100-900 = 0-800
Minimum score needed = 646-100 = 546
546/800=... blah blah blah you know the rest
If you wanted to test this to make sure...
ex. score 100
100-100 = 0
0/800=0 %
ex. score 900
900-100 = 800
800/800 = 1 (100%)
ex. score 500
500-100 = 400
400/800 = .5 (50%)
You dropped 100 points, he asked about a score of 646, and you are right, that since the score starts at 100, the spread is only 800 points, so 646/800 =80.75%Quote:

This is a pretty stanard figure for passing CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, and other cert exams.
I'm going with Adisharr on this one. He's one smart mutha...
Wow, 80% for passing Cisco and Microsoft and stuff like that?Quote:

Pretty harsh.
But then again, by my method, it's seems they are too easy.
But I am happy Adisharr agrees with me. I still know a bit of math :)
Well, it's been nearly 10 years since I took the A+ and 3 years since the Network+, but when I took the Cisco exam for my CCNA that was the passing level. I'm pretty sure the requirements are the same for the MCP exams.Quote:

How can it be 80%? That would mean it would be possible to score between 0 and 100. By Aph's statement I gather that's impossible. Therefore the score begins at 100 and goes to 900, a range of 800. Now as Adi said, you take 100 off your score and divide it by 900.

I assume it's a typo ;)
Nah I just get some things right :)Quote:

You gotta subtract the 100 from BOTH the 900 and the 646. (646-100)/(900-100)*100%= 68%
You are too humble! I've read many of your posts, you are a very smart guy.Quote:

Unfortunately I pale next to some of the other guys here ;) If I need to be humbled I just go into Highly Technical ;)
