Will this fit the slk-800 I just bought?
does this fan clip on with the included thin wire
things I see the heatsink come with?

Yes it will. The SLK-800 comes with some clips which merely slide in at different levels depending on the height of your fan 38mm 25mm or even 15mm as if anyone would use a thin fan like that with a SLK-800

This is the best shot I have of my SLK-800 and Tornado. As you see it totally fits the one thing which is IMO a non-issue is you cannot use finger guards with the SLK-800 unless you do some kind of mod. Admittedly a finger in a 5500rpm Tornado would be very bad but who sticks it in there anyway?
ok I now own the world best air cooling......teh slk-800 and that tornado fan. wow this costs a fortune, almost as much as my cpu alone, but ill be using it for future cpus, ya can bet. Itll be worth it if itll fit tomorrows cpus like I hope it does! anyway im at 2.14GHz on 1.75v, so think I can get 2.42GHz at 2v?
You're doing 2.14Ghz and 1.75v without the SLk-800 and Tornado now? If so the new combo might enable you to drop down to 1.7v perhaps. As for hitting 2.4Ghz the point IMO where you separate the good from the great OCable cpus on 2v its possible. I enjoy your willingness to go to that voltage point because frankly you'll probably need it. As a reference for you I am able to run 2.16Ghz on just 1.625v. I can do 2.4Ghz on 1.9v.
I cant even run 2.16GHz at 1.75v or itll lock in the middle of 3dmark. raising the voltage higher makes it get too hot, ive seen core temps go past 80c and surface temps at 55+ c. I want a max of 55/75 at those temps I had no problems. The cpu shuts down once I reach around 90c core temp  I know its hot in florida but even 10c lower will do wonders. also there could be a much larger difference oc than stock. it may go from 60c to 55c at 2GHz but from 75c to 62c at 2.14GHz because this is in relation to ambiant room temps and it can never get as cool as the surrounding air in my room.
I have done my calculations, each .1v gives me about 80 more MHz, so from 1.6v to 2.1v should get me +400 MHz, this means 2.42GHz at 2.1v might work. 186fsb times 13 is my goal. 280 more MHz will give me about 350-400 more marks. Depending on the oc of my new 64mb ti4200, if she does 300/600 and I lower IQ without ocing the cpu more, ill be 14k to 14.2k with more cpu I may break 14.5k to break 15k ill need like 210fsb. wow so much needs to be done: new card, new cooling, more oc and more fsb for the holy grail of 15k on a ti4200 :)
Hate to bet against you but I will
14365 This was my record run. As you see the cpu and FSB were way up there. Admittedly, newer drivers might be better but that's still a lot of ground to cover
you eat me in car chase high details 75 to 83fps, thats not too bad. I will need like 300/600 and a good oc on the cpu to match you, ill see what happens though :)
Ya, 15k is quite a bit for a 4200 but if you can do it I'll be impressed... you definitly arn't afraid of running high voltages and temps thats for sure :D 80*c MAN!... what were you thinking??? :)
Its all relative. Cook a 4200 up to a P4 at say 3.6Ghz and I could probably talk you into a 16K score. But certainly AMD based systems with 4200's are rarely seen over 15KQuote:

Sorry let me clarify...
People who use 4200's don't often have a system that will give them over 15,000 3dMarks.
Yeah I broke 15K with a crap ti4200 on an i845PE board with a 2.53 OCed to 3.3ghz.
I'm sure with my setup now I could easily top 16K with a 4200.:)
Oh great I got two of the most well known guys on this forum pointing out that I was wrong :) ... well I give up...
Almost ;) SLK-900U and the Tornado 92mmQuote:

Ha, SLK-900 and Tornado 120mm  You could make it fit somehow. :eek:Quote:

when moving some wires inside my case my thumb stopped my vantec aeroflow at 5600rpm... that was NOT a pretty site... it even broke my nail and i think went atleast 2 layers deep into my skin
lol :DQuote:

Maybe if you bend the support wires :)
You never know. Remember my horror story about the Delta 7K?Quote:

sapasion, where did u get those 2 fans under ur vid card that takes up one of the pci slots, did u manually put that together or was it made like that?
Here is my P4 with an Ti4200 from A WHILE back:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5743568 (14827)
I have a Leadtek Ti4200 with my 3000+... I never benchmarked it and probably never will. It takes me about 5 hours to get a good score ;)
nice score, but thats 3.3GHz of power there against 2.14GHz on my side. also with the fan, how hard is it to leave the safety metal grill while still fitting the fan onto the heatsink?
My comp isn't all together yet but I got an slk-900 and a tornado 92 mm fan. I powered it on just to see how loud it was. Honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
wow that was fast just got both the heatsink and fan but boy I have to remove the entire mobo and put it back! man itll take 3 hours easy and I hope I do it right
You can use a thin finger guard like the ones that come with the TT fans.Quote:

The wire clips hold the guard and the fan.
Gary
ouch! :eek:Quote:
