I'm going to have DUAL PROMETEIA's!!

Not only is Chip-Con sending me a replacement unit, but I get to keep my old one! If I get it repaired (and recharged with R134a, since it all leaked out :(), I'll have DUAL PROMETEIA's. Eat your heart out, watercoolers! :D Booya! Even Oppainter doesn't have dual Prometeia's, but rather a Prometeia and a vapochill (which is inferior :p).

PS: Don't think they do this for anyone, though - they only did this because my unit was DOA and I contacted them 4 days after getting it. If something goes wrong with a Prometeia and it did once work, you have to ship it to them for repair.

I think I'll have to run them side by side, since stacking would probably crush the hose on the bottom (it comes out the top). :eek:

Nice, nice! I see you got the black one, hope it goes well with your case. :D If not, don't buy the conversion kits; go buy some sheet aluminum or steel and drill holes and mount it. :D

Also, make sure it's got good contact with the core - when I mounted mine, I didn't check, and it turned out it wasn't even touching! So tighten those screws! (and then unscrew and check for contact :)).

DON'T buy the alu-kit? Why not? I was planning to get one in black to match my Lian-Li!

Because it's overpriced and you can get the same (or possibly nicer) result by buying some sheet metal and doing it yourself. :)

Yes, you can turn it on without it being mounted to anything. However, you have to have it connected to your PC's power supply (there should be a 2-wire molex coming out of the hole on top). Then either turn on your computer or disconnect your ATX power (and preferably everything else, like HD's and stuff, so they don't run without the motherboard being on). Once the ATX power thing is disconnected (it's the big massive white connector with a clip), short it out (pins 14-15, see diagram in Prometeia manual) with a paper clip and your Prometeia will turn on.

If you have any questions when setting it up, don't hesitate to ask me - better safe than sorry!

There's a piece of paper here that says, "Under no circumstance should you remove the side panels."

Buuuuut...

When I was trying to pry the thing from the box I think I may have popped the display inward a little bit... :mad: I was thinking I'd need to remove the panel and pop it back in.

The display is pretty frustrating, yeah - it's pretty strangely mounted. Anyway, that warning is pure BS. I'm guessing they'll check whether you opened it if you ever have a problem and you send it in for warranty, but actually opening it won't do anything. I've done it COUNTLESS times, I've even run the thing with the side off (despite their doomsday warning about a horrible electric shock, etc).
