The Star Wars Kid
Make sure to watch the "Original" video first, then watch the remix and SWK 2.0 and the rest of the "clone" videos - Extremely funny stuff!
Hopefully this kid will get into Episode III :)

The kid is an *** though. The site that first posted the video made a donation box for him and collected over four grand in good will to go to the kid, and then the kid goes and sues them. ***.
Hmm...That's not what I read...
I heard that the kid's parents wanted to sue the families of the 4 guys who originally stole and posted the video on the net for $250,000 in damages (due to psyhcological damage).
The website jedimaster.net started the donation fund as well as the Lucas petition. They collected over $3-$4K and bought him an iPod and some other stuff with it.
I never read anything about the kid suing the website...

Yeah, I think I've seen this site before, but never watched the movies in it. I can't wait to get a chance to see them. And what's this thing about sueing someone. I've never heard of anything like.
I winced while watching the video but I'd have to say he'd have been an improvement over Jake Lloyd.

With a bit of practice and a little professional instruction, this kid would be a damn good lightsaber-wielder-guy :)
He'd have to lose a bit of weight though, as I don't think there are any portly Jedi out there...

The guy got physcological problems and stuff from people laughing and making jokes at him, its not really that much fun anymore, its more being mean now.

If I was him I'd be happy everyone liked my performance, and even put on a show and charge admission. Can't complain with that. And 250 grand for damages? Pffff please, give me a friggen break. He got 4 grand already.

Wow, I wouldn't blame the kid or his parents for sueing. That was a obviously made to make fun of the kid. Well there's some pretty messed up people in this world, I'm just glad I'm not one of them.
Havn't seen it but I have seen the Starwars Films and a lot of those "techniques" are classical Sword and Staff moves or are made up by classically trained Swordmasters and Martial Artists so I stand by what I said. It's Star Wars that is selling, not the actual techniques. :DQuote:

I think they thought it was Star wars because of the noises he was making, and I dont think it was Star wars that made it so popular, put "Fat kid swings stick and makes funny noises" and it would still be just as funny, though may take a little longer to be as popular.

Because he didn't immediately seek copyright over the footage, which would give him legal leverage to have it stopped and seek damages.
No matter how you spin it, a critical degree of personal responsibility was NOT exercised.
What I think sucks about the suit, is that he got so much publicity, he could've just handled it differently. He went into hiding so it came off people were making fun of him (which the original 4 were).
If he would've just come out, and done interviews and been on techtv or some crap, he'd know people are laughing with him, not at him... i dunno how many times I've faked sword fights with myself. Or had a gun drawing competition in the mirror.
YES!!! I remember taking my toy guns and diving all over the house in a max payne like way...I swear...there were bad guys everywhere...also we had these laser guns and I remember setting up one of the targets and diving while shooting at it...I got pretty good :DQuote:

I must of had a boring life.. I dont think I had ever done anything like that in my life...
I remember when I was 12 we had Laser Tag, which was fun to play with (when it worked!)...
I think I would lock myself up in my room if something like that got all over the internet... Just because it is on the internet doesnt mean it will be popular... But that did..
