Not spank, "eat".(TM);)
I think Chaser and Chrome are getting jealous. Maybe Breed is too :).
I don't know, it looks like a post card. Where's the many bots on the screen and the explosions? That's the true test of performance.
Ummm, even if the graphics are better, hl2's sci-fi story has far more appeal for me.
Whens the release?
Its not THAT pretty, its just that the water looks incredible!
I think its the level editor amazing for that thing.
No compile times, they can check out the map immediatly after they finish making a change to it, and the interface looked fast and easy, though i doubt its easy to pick up, and was only looked that way because of the person demoing it on the movie.
Looking at the shots, i think something they did pretty well on that was the vivid color choices.
if they add more bump mapping then it'll look godly
Wow! That just looks amazing. The graphics are really nice. They must've put a lot of work on this game.
Before it can even be compared to the HL2 engine, something has to occur... They have to show that their engine has the PHYSICS that HL2 has. All these screens show is nice rendering. The thing that has always impressed me about HL2 was the physics engine. Things like the camera demo where multiple screens show the camera output, then they throw the camera through a screen and the others show the results. Things like the matress floating on water then sinking, wood acting like wood, etc.... Then they have to show the same sort of AI HL2 is showing.
Until then, it's just a pretty picture. :p
Ubisoft has ****ed up too many games I love
Pools Of Radience
Shadowbane
to name a few
so I have no trust or hope for ubi!
Screenshots are fine and dandy but I need some real life video recorded off of a running computer to show the performance and the real in-game quality.
pretty, though.Quote:

There's a couple videos of Far Cry in action from E3, and some other places. I suggest you guys go watch them. Especially the engine video. :)
I've been keeping my eye on Far Cry, and I hope it turns out as good as it looks!
Sounds promising, and so does HL2 and DOOM3. A gamers paradise is coming, atleast in the realm of FPS.Quote:

But then he was just talking about the GRAPHICS, not the physics at all. If you want to talk about the engine that's a whole different thread. People bringing up irrelevent arguments is such a pet peeve of mine.Quote:
