Awesome! I found a cool nForce3 mobo in stock too but no Abit's and 2 of the 3 I found are out of stock. Anyone know the best one for the Athlon 64?
I have no idea, although a common theme in the A64 reviews has been that the VIA offering for the A64 is as good or better than the NForce3 - I'd look at those too.
God I love Newegg
[gushing love for Newegg]
They will forever go down in history as the BEST online retailer

actually, mwave has the A64 3200 for cheaper than newegg.
I think tomshardware was having a small problem witn the Nforce3 boards.
Looks like the ASUS K8V Deluxe is pretty nice...
WOW a $800 chip!!!! Hmmm who does AMD think they are :D Intel??? :D That is one jacked up price :D
I like the cpu tho... It looks cool with all the pins on the bottom :)
C'mon Colossus. You know better than to pull that 'only Intel can charge a premium for a super-fast chip' nonsense. This is 2003, not 1993. If the AMD chip kicks ***, then it can fetch a big premium. End of story.Quote:

but you've seen the performance numbers...the A64 FX51 pwns the 3.2C a lot of the time. :)
The P4EE proccies are a whole 'nother deal though. That L3 really helps!
yea, and i bet the EE's are priced about the same as the FX chips, if not more.
AMD targeted their prices of the A64 for the EEs.:) The A64 is the better chip.Quote:

That's a beastly Q3A score the EE can get with that L3 cache though!
So, *rubs hands together*, anyone gonna buy one? ;)
Of course. Sadly, I'm not.Quote:

me either, already have a kickass desktop, and a nice laptop. I am set either way:D
i'm trying my hardest, but i don't know, it's hard to scrounge together about $1000 as a high school student.
Hehe, I hear ya!:( I could get one of these setups easy...at the expense of my life savings...;)Quote:

I'm glad I got my 8RDA+, this and my 2500+ in Dec. will hold me off until the prices drop and the times comes when I need the A64.:D
Needs versus wants. Its true most of us want the high-end cpus and VC's but its equally true that those of us with cpus bought in the last year are doing pretty well at todays high end games.
Thank you bun packing job....
Job before college kinda thing so I can get some stuff before college :D
Actually I am waiting till San Diego before I splurge
It looks exciting, but I don't think any processor is worth $1000 Cdn for the desktop.
I'll wait a few more weeks thank you very much. ;)
Let's all chip in a get one. We can treat it like the Stanley Cup and do whatever we want with it for a day :)
lmao...awesome idea...Lord Sharky's Chip...:p

what's the difference between all those athlon 64 chips?
Yea but MWave doesn't include shipping with any of their prices. They are probably right at the same price after you add shipping at MWave.Quote:

I wish I could get one of these suckers, but I don't see that happening anytime in the next year or so :p Unless they drop below $200 anytime soon *busts out the voodoo and starts chanting*
--edit--
It turns out to be $3 more at MWave if you add 3-day shipping.
