Phew..done.

I just completed installing my SLk-800 and Tornado adn sleeving my PSU..phew...loota work and some *scary* moments. But, it was worth it. Temps have dropped about 10 degrees celcius, and soon I'll be installing dual blowholes.:D But, it is EXTREMELY loud. I didn't get the right kind of wires, so my two 40 dba Sunons are each running at full speed along with the Tornado, which is about half speed; a liitle Rage Against the Machine fixes that though :) I'll try to post some pics later tonight, if I can find my digital camera. And, yes, I will aalso be overclocking, so I'll post the results. Tommorow I'll reformat and reistall Windows and run some benchmarks. Now all I have to do is the blowholes and window:cool:

Better find that camera!

Also, are you installing the dual-blowholes on top of the case?

So how did you lower the speed on the Tornado? Did you mod the molex for a lower voltage?

You'll be happy to hear I just got an old Dell lappy with a P3:) Just installed RH8 on her tonight, but just like you have that old AMD chip, here is my Intel chip;)

I have two AMD K6 :) One is a K6 the other is a K6-2 :)

I dont recall the speeds since I ripped the IHS off... Congrats on the P3 score!

Here's a scary moment: I tried some overclocking, and everything was working danady, I was at 185*11 with a cas latency of 2. I was downloading drivers for my TV tuner card, when my system suddenly shut off...and I heard BEEP CODES!!! Ahhhhh! I powered back up to no avail. First I thought the drivers had screwed up my system, but, no, the BIOS wouldn't emit beep codes from that! So, then I suspected my overclock. Maybe it corrupted my BIOS. 10 minutes later I decided to clear my CMOs after several shutdowns. Then I go into my BIOS. I look in the PC health status and...my CPU is at 60 degrees????? ***!!!!???? I looked at my Sunbeam...lol...the dial for the Tornado was almost completelt off:p I fixed that and went on my merry way. VERY scarry few minutes there!

Ok, when I do put the pictures up no smart remarks! THe sleeving is kind've pink/slamon...SVC said "neon red":( I guess a cold cathode will fix that:D

And, colossus..call me knuckles;) :D :p (knuckles644 is my hotmail address because knuckles was already taken, and I wanted to integrate everything with my e-mail address...now that I'm getting webspace thats kind've stupid...but, nuttin I can do...most people know me as Knuckles anyways :) not that I'm weird about it or anything:D :D

So what temps are you getting now? Before?

RobsMob: Before my temps ranged anywhere from 47 to 55 degrees celsius. Now they are 37. When I add my blowholes and get all of my fans in order, I expect that temperature to drop another 3 or 4 degrees:)

Nice....I'm going to be purchasing a 2500 w/in a month or so and I have been trying to decide on whether to get the slk 800 or 900. Thanks for the input.

The only difference is that the SLK-900 has 92mm fan support while the SLK-800 only has 80mm..

But adapters can be bought or made :)

Oh ya, the artic silver also needs to "settle" so my temps will probably drop a degree or two in the coming days.

You didnt try out Creamique? Or something that isnt conductive? I heard it can be dangerous on the AMD's due to the small core and conductive bridges :)

meh, works for me, and im really careful, i have about a quarter pint of 100% alcohal (my dad is the head of a small cleaning chemical company so I get all the free isypropal alcohal and mineral spirits I need :D) and I DOUSE my chip with the stuff. Maybe next time I will try Ceramique:)

Get the SLK-900! 92 Tornado's are so much cooler...just make sure you have a fanbus to control that insane noise!

I hope you get those pics up, so in the meantime you better make sure you're case is nice and tidy;)

XP, if your temps are that low, you should O/C your system a little more.

Yeah, I will. I'm running it at 13x166 for the time being until I can get my 2x512 Buffalo Tech pc3200. This at stock Vcore too, so my chip could have some potential:D

On my comp, the last two attempts both ended with a CMOS reset:D...and lots of headaches:)

Buffalo Tech? Get some Corsair XMS or Kingston HyperX or something, it can't be good with a name like Buffalo Tech :D Where these guys from, Texas?

BTW, you can buy Vcore? What exactly do you buy? LMAO, I try to sound like I know what I'm talking about, but I've really never built a PC :D I plan to though, once the 64-bit environment develops.
