Cann't seem to find them at the NASA website. I remember last year of some 30MB, 100MB and 750MB pictures of the earth taken from a sattlelite.
Anyone have the pics or links? Haven't had luck with google

why would you want a picture that large?
Details, details. I have several 2000x2236 and larger pics I use frequently. More resolution is better than less when it comes to photos for off line use. One is a satellite view of Bora Bora on my specs website.Quote:

I don't know about the particular images you're looking for, but you might be able to find them by looking around http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov .

No! The water is safe and warm - but not as warm as Florida west coast waters. It is a snorkeler's and scuba diver's paradise. I spent a day on a WaveRunner circumnavigating the lagoon at Bora Bora last year. (Visit my main website for pics.) The pics on my website have reduced resolution to make them load faster over the internet.Quote:

See more photos of Bora Bora by visiting my main website by clicking the link in my sig or www.kitzy.com.
where did you get that satellite picture?
     amazing indeed
I don't recall, but it was from a private satellite/imaging company that offers images of targets you choose in the resolution you choose. All for a few dollars per square kilometer. Bora Bora is one of my favorite places on this earth. :cool:Quote:

I'm not trying to hijack the original thread starter here, but...since we're talking about sky views...
I got fascinated by high-res satellite views when the war in Iraq was in full swing.
It was chilling to see "before" shots of the presidential palace and a few days later,
see the same thing "after" a few tomahawks made their mark, all in mega-high resolution.
Eerie and impressive.
Anyhow, two of my favorite sites for this sort of thing:
digital globe and space imaging .
Some of these file are pretty big but I don't know where you'd get the 750MB files that ua549 is looking for.
Prolly have to pay for them! The world is marvelous when looked at from waaaay on high.
Bora Bora is pretty nice ua549, you lucky dog.
Here's a place I wanna go before I die, mmmmmm...Singapore.
My apologies to everyone for the size,
but this pic is 1.37MB and you are rewarded with a sweet view of what looks like a bee-yoo-tee-full city.
Enjoy!

***??? NOW I know how the government spend our (actually my parents' ;))well-earned money...i would think that's a bit overdoing but probably from a military standpoint:

I never knew my country would look so good from the top.Quote:

I doubt you would want to spend your remaining days in Singapore.
Aside from the town area, its filled with boring repetitve HDBs(flats)
Its a very stable(no racial discrimination) country, you won't find any KKK around here.
You should check out our clubs though especially "Zouk"
But there isn't really much to see, so you might just want to come here for a holiday.
good find;)Quote:
