I figure its worth playing with another mobo, but it must be able to do 225fsb or more or I wont bother then! If it wont do 225 I may return it for a full refund. Ill also trade. mine only does 190fsb so 225fsb would really boost my 3dmarks and of course gaming experience by alot!

T-Bird you would have better luck, getting a 225fsb, with a KT600, then the KT400, at lease it has the 1/6 divider for 200mhz. Just be sure to get one that provides the high voltage settings(vdimm,vcore) to get you there. Almost forgot hope your ram and cpu will go that high also.
Sure, call it threadcrapping, but no one here has one that can do that.
I'll bet you're regretting what you said about the NF2 and don't want to look like a hypocrite by buying one now.
Just know, 225FSB is cake on an NF2 board...:)

A motherboard that will do a certain FSB for one person is never guaranteed, and will almost never do that exact FSB for another person. This is because you will never be able to find someone with a perfectly identical setup to yours (same chip core, components, etc). Just words of advice.Quote:

hmmm excellent point! Thatll give me about 39/78. Thats the same as 195fsb at 1/5 divisor. Ok so what brands should I look for? It must be able to do 2.2 for the cpu and at least 3 volts for the ram. it also must have the option for 2-2-2-6-t1 timings. I dont want to buy new cause its a gamble but buying used gives me a much better chance.

id much rather have a kt400/600 thatll do 225fsb since I love the kt400s :) but if someone has an nf2 thatll do at least 225 CHEAP like 60 bucks ill consider :) ah id pay like $100 for a kt400/600 thatll do 225+ fsb if you guarantee it. If not ill pay like $60-70 then cause id have to resell it if it wont do that.

thats why I want one that someone already got 225fsb on, even if he had to mod it for that :) and I dont like the nf2 but if cheap enough id consider

agreed, but if something will limit me, itll be the ram then. I got corsair pc3200 ram, I hope shes good for 215+ and I could always try another 256mb stick and see if she ocs better. my cpu is unlocked. If someone did not guarantee, he could just lie and say his does 225 then when I cant hit even 200 he would make excuses. Id want to return it for a full refund plus one way shipping. However id pay a preminium anyway so if I do keep it you get the money, if not your out $5 bucks shipping oneway and im out $5 the other way
I guess the Epox KT600 should have the high vcore and vdimm settings you need, but you had better check to be sure, also check the Abit KT600.

Why, the only real thing the Nforce MB`s have over the KT600`s is the AGP/PCI lock right now and the DC memory advantage isn`t that far ahead of it. Edit to add I`m not saying it is better then getting a Nforce MB, just that it would be better then him getting another KT400.Quote:

Why would that be sad?
Because he wants 225FSB and getting something other than an NF2 effectively ends that quest. Sure, he *could* get it, but is it really worth it?
I swear, he badmouths the NF2 to no end as it has a few problems as a maturing chipset, and now he can't/won't get it for fear of being a hypocrite.

ok guys I am the owner an abit nf7 rev 2.0 nf2 mobo I quickly bought now off ebay for $65 plus $10 shipping and its brand new with manual and disk! I found a good deal so I figure ill take a chance :) I shall be very careful with her as to reduce the chance of sudden death. Itll be quite a bit of work to swap mobos since I have the slk-800u in my kt400 but I can do that, just gotta unlazy myself(hello Mikesg) and sapasion, I seriously considered your mobo but the chance for a cheap, brand new nf2 approached me so I am going to try this path instead. Your kt333 is a very nice motherboard none the less :) also, I hope I get lucky and match or beat your kt333 in fsb on that nf2. any idea if I can get 225fsb or is around 190-200 fsb a realistic limit? I really do want 225fsb since thats the sweet spot for my cpu :)

personally, i feel much safer doing business in the classifieds at any of the many BBS's i cruise on occasion if i am on the look for a guaranteed/proven part.
but Ebay? from a much larger UNKNOWN black hole.
the one expensive computer item i bought off Ebay (9700Pro by Sapphire back in Oct 02) has been nothing short of a nightmare with 3 exchanges and the vendor going out of business and Sapphire and ATI leaving me in a 5 month limbo until the last exchange was approved, i could go on, but i think you get my drift.
one can only hope he found a 'jewel'. if it is a dawg, he will be intolerable, and we will respond with 'what the heck did you expect?', same old stuffs, again.
