Why is this in Upcoming Games?
My favorite RTS is probably Myth.
I won the world championship for Ra2! :D RA1 was the best IMOQuote:

Warcraft 3 and expansion frozen throne. Hands Down.;)
As far as most fun, RA2 all the way. But the all around best IMO is still Star Craft and Brood War.
No way, Dune was the best RTS. The one that started them all.
Red Alert. The original. Best RTS ever. I remember playing 4-6hr long games over the modem. It was awesome. StarCraft was awesome too.
Never played Dune :(Quote:

I remember when we first got the internet at my house. We had a 100 hour limit (56k) and I used it up in a little over 2 weeks with Star Craft. I had way too much free time in high school. Now I barely have any.
because he's the same guy who posts Recruitment links for those stupid web games in General games...so he's hiding hereQuote:

LOL good question.
I personally think Age of the Empires 1/2, Starcraft, Red Alert 1/2 (all other C&C games) are my favorites. The originals. I am not too big of a fan for those made after 2001 they seem to be ALL going 3D now :\.
Diablo is not an RTS.Quote:

I used to play age of empires 2 for a little bit too...
Age of Empires.
I can't believe Homeworld hasn't been mentioned.
Not to argue with you, in fact I agree with you. But i'd like to see you try to convince Blizzard VP Max Schafer of that. I argued with him for 2 days on Usenet about that very thing. His arguement was based on the fact that it won several awards in that genre. That problem with Diablo was that when it came out, nobody knew what catagory to put it in.Quote:

Generals doesn't get any thumbs up from me
Cause its graphics, (Which are equal to Warcraft 3)
Have significantly higher requirements.
yes I know its DirectX 9 but even at the lowest settings on a DirectX 8 card it still can't run properly. It only likes newer cards.
It also isn't as well planned as RA2.
Long live Red Alert, long live Westwood.
generals is by EA. My guess is they joined up.
Starcraft with Brood Wars expansion without a doubt
Starcraft Broodwars gets my vote as well.
Though Homeworld would be 2nd.
Its a damned action game with RPG elements, definitely NOT an RTS!Quote:

Warcraft 3 would be and is an awesome game when it is BALANCED, which it is FAR from right now. If you want to be a good player, you either have to be the Night Elf's and abuse the Beastmaster and the Nagga, or abuse human AOE spells while spamming slow. If you do not do this you will not win high level games. Back in ROC days I really loved the game and was quite good but today it is in shambles and I along with many other people refuse to play online until patch 1.13 comes out.Quote:

I could care less about the lack of balance really because there is always a way to get around it. I.E. Fearie dragons and other units for antimagic. The thing I hate when noob allies hate to listen or people just do dumb things. That I can't stand. I haven't played in about a month though because my computer is broke.:(Quote:

Heh, by definition there is no way to 'get around' an imbalance. If there was a way to counter it, it would not be an imbalance. The Beastmaster is so overly powerful it is almost a joke, as if Blizzard is laughing in our face when everyone begs for the patch. Take a look at the top of the ladders and you will see very few Orcs simply because they do not have a viable counter to the NE's Beastmaster and Nagga abuse, or Human AOE spamming. Obviously an NE can stop Human AOE slow spamming with Ferry Dragons, but what can Orcs do about it? NOTHING, you simply have to use these abusive tactics to be competitive.Quote:

starcraft with brood war and wc3 exp.. what a coincidence, both from Bliizard :D
Not true. Orcs have the spirit wolf caster which can buff magic spells. People just don't use them. I really didn't have a problem with beastmaster and naga abuse. But I did only play team games. Were you playing 1v1?Quote:
