HL/2 pre-load will begin tomorrow. It was ready yesterday, but we decided to use the bandwidth to get out the VST first since I get pelted with zillions of questions from people asking how their PC will run Half-Life 2.
How arrogant, pls. put the game out already & stfu.

I never really wanted him to speak (he obviously does not like dealing with the public) what i would like is for their team to finish their product so i may enjoy the single player aspect of it.Quote:

wont enjoy MP since i havent loaded & wont load steam on my system & i hope other developers dont create their own steam programs for their games cause i dont like this type of program. Sorry for going off on a wild tangent but whenever i think of gabe i think of the ultamatum If you dont download our program (Steam) you can not play MP. I dont mind sharing on P2P with my consent,I just think steam sets a bad precedent for gaming in general.
To Sum up Pls. release the game already.

So what exactly does this mean? Like what is a preload?
You DL files of the game that won't ever change. The rest can be DL'd when the game is released.
This is to help the stress on the servers when the game is released.

well, some peeps here have been playing CS Source so i assume preloads have begun. (for those with steam)
No, I meant the preload of Half Life 2 not CS:Source. Anyway, HL 2 is preloading tonight. Hopefully they will get the game out some time soon.
well, per the post in the general gamming forum Nov im pretty sure it will be a 2004 release i will probably pick it up in 2005 though. kinda glad im still strolling thru doom3 (dont wanna finish too fast).
