Hopefully this title improves on the various flaws that the previous one had. The environment was too large, and there were too many repetitive quests. Although I am a little doubtful this title will meet my expectations, I am happy to see a new large scale RPG in the works.
I for one can't wait. Morrowind was a good game while it lasted, then it got repetitve, thank god for mods!
My sole problem with MW were the countless bugs and glitches which Bethesda is so famous for.

i loved morrowind it was so kewl, Had my own house full of enchanted items, books, armor all kinda stuff i collected from the island (located between the telvani compund in vivec & ald sotha, killed the skooma dealers that owned it) i had such a bounty on me the guards attacked me on site, of course after the main quest i had to kill vivec.
looking forward to having my own steed or hopefully a flying dragon to take me around (yes,i know the latter is wishfull thinking):D
If anyone has a link to the gameinformer pics feel free to post the link here :)

If these are in game pics, and apparently they are, then damn
Very impressive... now the only thing left is to find out if the game is any good, cause the graphics sure as hell are.Quote:

WoW@those pics
I was gonna say "omg look at that shader, how the light refracts from that tile in the floor" and then i realized it was a pic of an actual floor and the "book" on the table was the magazine.
Ouch. I may need a break.

even tho my eye candy standards are way low on this game due to the fact the gameplay/story was what i loved about TES 3 Morrowind.
these shots are just more icing on an excellent cake (hopefully)
Again, many thanks :)
I hope they work on the writing for the NPC dialogues; it was VERY bland in Morrowind. Same deal with the interaction interface as a whole, really; I always felt disconnected from the characters.
True that. A dialogue system like a hyperlinked text wasn't exactly what I'd call immsersive. It also made me feel the dialogues were extremely boring (and I'm a guy who's read every book he could find in BG or NWN).
Now the real question is, when is the game going to launch with those graphics? If its two years from now, thats not so impressive.
Personally I kinda liked Morrowind Elder SCrolls but it took so damn long to get anywhere (i Know, I know there are ways, but they are still a pain) that I got kinda sick of it. I wish there had been more spoken dialogue, while I realize that is hard to do and expensive, I get really annoyed reading pages and pages of text. Also, it would be nice if the combat system were more interesting, featured a number of different moves, combos, something. Maybe I just have too short an attention span for RPGs :) THe graphics of the new one do look sick though. Hopefully it comes out before my rig is outdated though, the ES kicked the crap out of my geforce 2 when I played it..
Combo attacks and the like aren't really for Morrowind; I really think that turn-based (or real-time pausable) is the best system by far for RPGs. In a first person RPG like that, combos et al. would really turn off most hard-core RPG fans.
I guess a more advanced combat system would be breaking with traditional RPGs, but when there is that much combat in a game don't you get sick of the block, attack, block, attack, repetition?
i dont think RPGs are for you then.... maybe a action-RPG is your forte (something like zelda or Fable)... true 1st person RPGs like morrowind and MMORPGS like SWG and EQ use simulated dice rolls and stats during combat to make the the RPG experience more authenticQuote:

I personally feel worrowind could've been an incredible game if they were able to add Co-Op campaigns. That would've been awesome.
I played a thief in the original game and I was stealing everything I could and selling it for money :p . I got to a part of the story that required me to steal a recipe book, I came to figure out that I had already stolen it and sold it to a merchant somewhere. To make a long story short I never found the damn book and had to quit because it was part of the main quest line... Being a thief got the best of me :( .
That's the problem with a totally free-form world; it was Morrowind's biggest positive and biggest negative at the same time. Some of those quests, though, should have been handled better (maybe the recipe book, or the character who has it, shouldn't spawn until that quest flag is triggered or something).Quote:

Also, due to the sucky interaction, I never really felt bad about getting caught, because I had no connection to the characters and no qualms about slaughtering them to prevent from being caught.:D
