And among other things, they stuck in Core 2 Duo in them and dropped the price on them even more ($999).
You know how I said a few times that I'd only buy an iMac when they slap in the C2D?
...Yeah.

Oh man……but you can upgrade these thing after the fact can you (ie, more ram or better video down the line?) cause wow……24” and $1000. that’s a bargain in Mac terms.
You guys seem to be missing the fact that the 24" iMac is $2000. iMacs simply START at $999 (for the 17" model).

yeah.....i just saw that. damn you ash for wording it weird :(
Man, those are pretty good prices, especially at the low end. $1K ($900 after educational discount) is pretty cheap to get a decently nice computer.
Nice so the laptops should be updated soon.
I think you can exchange it within two weeks if there is a hardware update as long as it's not a BTO.Quote:

They can return it, I was on my last day of the return cycle yesterday and so I did. I would have exchanged it if the Apple Stores wouldn't be getting it in until Friday :/Quote:

No, Macs use EFI instead of BIOS. There are ways to get OSX to run on any recent x86 computer, but they are illegal.
