This thread is easy, answer whether your 360 has broken or not. Lets seems some numbers from fellow sharkies.
no but 2 of my buddies have had theirs break.
ive had 1 ps2 crap out from bad laser
ive had 1 xbox360 crap out from 3 rings
ive had 3 bad DS lites (cracking hinge twice, unresponsive button, yellow screen)
no issues with my wii, psp, and xbox1
I guess I will list some things too:
Consoles I've had break:
1 PS2
1 PSX
1 Xbox original
2 original gameboys (after 7+ years lol.)
Still going strong: SNES, Saturn, Dreamcast, Wii, and 360.
Yup last May when I bought my X-Box 360 it had overheating issues, would shut my console down 5 minutes after playing any game, movie, etc. Had to send it back and get a new one. No problems since :).
No problems so far (I bought it last december).
The only other console I ever had was an original Gameboy whose "start" button stopped working after two or three years.
My 360 has burned down 0 homes so far.
0/1 PSX Replaced
0/2 PS2 Replaced
0/2 Gamecube's Replaced
0/1 Xbox Replaced
1/2 360's Replaced
1/14 Video Card's Replaced because of Fire :D
Don't own a 360, so I didn't vote, but as long as everyone is telling console stories -
My DS Lite has the cracked hinge, but it has not affected usability in any way.
My PS2 does not load games properly; it goes to the browser/mem card screen every time it boots up instead of going straight to the game. Kind of annoying, but it only adds a couple of seconds to startup time, and it only started doing that after I dropped the console down a flight of 12 stairs or so. :D
ps2 died though it was a release..
The best way to gaurantee that you don't have to fix or replace a broken 360? Don't buy one to begin with! :)
I've only had my 360 since February but no problems thus far. In fact, the last failure I've had for a gaming system was my first C64 died around '87 after several years of service. Good excuse to pick up one of the new slim ones at the time though. ;) Since then, I've had all the Sega consoles including 32x and CD, N64, PS1, PS2, Xbox 1, and GBA - no problems with any of them.
Am I the only one that's too superstitious to answer this question? :)
Yes, my first Xbox 360 began giving me serious problems last fall, roughly 4-5 months after purchase.
Problem: DVD drive. It just wouldn't read certain games, lock up at certain points, give me "Disk is dirty or damaged" messages, etc.
Now on my second since November, with extended, replacement warranty. No problems whatsoever, works beautifully.
Of my other consoles, only my original Xbox gave me problems, ironically, drive problems as well (I had the early "Thompson" drives).
Other than that,
Atari 2600
NES
SNES
Genesis
Sega CD
32X
Saturn
PSX
Dreamcast
PS2
Gamecube
--
Game Gear
(original) Gameboy
...have not had any real defects that I'm aware of, and are all working perfectly to this day, aside from the NES, which still requires me to blow into the cartridges!:p
nope :)Quote:
